Celeste

Celeste is Bella's human-born mother, a bearer of the Sacred Phoenix bloodline, and the former Adventurous Phoenix Queen. The Eternal Phoenix Clan separates her from Belial and confines her after their forbidden relationship, leaving Bella to grow up apart from her. Aengus and Bella eventually free Celeste, reunite her with Belial, and restore her place in a family that later welcomes the reincarnated Emily. (Chapters 136–140 and 270–448)

Biography

Culprit to To Crimson City

Celeste's early history is reported through the jealousy and grief surrounding Bella. A human who once held the duchess's position, she loved Belial and bore his daughter despite carrying a Phoenix bloodline guarded by the Eternal Phoenix Clan. The clan forced the couple apart under an agreement that Bella would remain outside its control, while Celeste sacrificed her own happiness for the child's safety. Her absence creates the fear Ruliana exploits, and Bella preserves her memory through a cherished image that Aengus recreates as mother and adult daughter standing together. (Chapters 136–140)

Preparation to Transportation

Bella delays marriage until Celeste can attend, prompting Aengus to take her into the Phoenix Empire. They find Celeste frail and isolated under Claudia's authority; she recognizes Bella immediately but fears the family retaliation that reunion provokes. Asked whether she wants freedom, Celeste chooses to leave despite trembling under her mother's power. Aengus defeats the opposition, restoring her relationship with Bella, and the family later brings Belial before her. Their awkward reunion begins repairing a separation neither had truly overcome. (Chapters 270 and 296–317)

The Return of the Emperor to Revival Of Arcadia City

During Aengus and Bella's absence, Celeste and Belial remain together but age under the sorrow of not knowing whether their daughter will return. Aengus's homecoming reunites them with Bella and reveals her pregnancy, shifting Celeste from grieving mother to expectant grandmother. She later supports Bella during Emily's birth, wraps the newborn carefully, and reminds Aron of an older brother's duty. These acts give her the domestic role long denied by clan imprisonment and complete her movement from isolated queen to an active elder of the restored household. (Chapters 412–448)

Appearance and personality

When directly introduced, Celeste has a frail frame shaped by long isolation; after freedom she is described as radiantly beautiful, with a presence able to rival other exceptional women. Years later she has only faint wrinkles because her Eternal Phoenix bloodline slows visible aging. Celeste is loving, adventurous, and hungry for freedom, but captivity leaves her fearful of Claudia and uncertain that Belial or Bella still remembers her. Reunions reveal warmth, embarrassment, passive-aggressive humor, and a protective maternal steadiness. (Chapters 305–317 and 412–448)

Skills, laws, and abilities

Celeste carries the Sacred or Eternal Phoenix bloodline and was once known as the Adventurous Phoenix Queen. The bloodline preserves youth enough that years produce only faint wrinkles, and the title implies former martial standing, but the corpus never shows her status panel, law affinity, phoenix transformation, rebirth, named attack, or direct battle. Her frailty under confinement demonstrates that prestigious lineage does not prevent physical decline, political imprisonment, or fear before Claudia's overwhelming power. (Chapters 137, 305–317, and 415)

Her later contribution is familial support rather than combat. Celeste counsels Bella through childbirth, understands the loneliness of separation, and handles the divine newborn safely, but none of those acts is presented as a healing or Phoenix technique. The story therefore supports longevity, an inherited sacred status, and a past adventuring reputation while leaving the mechanics and latest combat capacity unresolved. (Chapters 316 and 447–448)

Relationships

  • Bella Bellfrost: Celeste sacrifices life with Belial to keep Bella beyond the Phoenix Clan's direct control. Their reunion restores a deeply affectionate mother-daughter bond, and Celeste later supports Bella through pregnancy and childbirth. (Chapters 136–140, 270, and 305–448)
  • Belial: Celeste and Belial love each other but are forcibly separated. Both assume the other may have moved on, and their hesitant reunion eventually becomes a shared later life beside their daughter and granddaughter. (Chapters 137, 270, 296, and 317–448)
  • Claudia: Claudia is Celeste's mother and enforcer of the clan's bloodline rules. Her decision to separate and confine Celeste drives the family's central conflict until Aengus defeats her authority. (Chapters 303–310)
  • Aengus Degaro: Aengus recreates Bella's family image, promises a reunion, and confronts the Phoenix Clan to free Celeste. She accepts him as an extraordinary son-in-law and later trusts his protection of the family. (Chapters 140 and 270–448)
  • Emily: Celeste assists during Emily's birth and carefully wraps her granddaughter afterward, helping incorporate the reincarnated child into the household. (Chapters 447–448)

Items

  • No named personal item is assigned to Celeste. Aengus creates a statue depicting her beside adult Bella, but the work is presented as a gift to Bella rather than equipment or an artifact Celeste carries. (Chapter 140)
