Charmaine

Charmaine is an Elven former officer who becomes William's personal maid, household representative, blood donor, battlefield companion, lover, and eventual wife. Her service begins under coercive circumstances after Malacai erases her memories, a fact that remains essential to understanding her early loyalty; later chapters nevertheless show her making a life within William's household, accepting major responsibilities, and forming an intimate relationship with him. Biography

From captive officer to trusted member of the household

Charmaine originally serves as an officer among the Elves fighting William's allies and participates in Arslan's capture. After the Southern war, Malacai wipes her memories and those of twelve other Elven girls, turning them into blood donors and caretakers in the Thousand Beast Domain. William did not perform the erasure, but he benefits from it; he and Ashe later agree that the women should eventually be freed. Within that compromised beginning, Charmaine becomes William's personal maid, manages the Villa with the other Elves, and supplies blood carefully enough that William rotates donors to avoid making any one woman anemic. Her responsibilities expand beyond domestic service. Charmaine receives residents' concerns when William is absent, travels with him, and becomes one of the few people whose affection still reaches him after he becomes the Prince of Darkness. She develops from caretaker and donor into his acknowledged lover, while retaining practical household duties such as cooking and learning new dishes for the family. In war William assigns her beside Chloee at the vanguard to clear weaker enemies, confirming that her earlier combat training remains useful. Appearance and personality

Charmaine is described as a pretty Elf who commonly wears maid clothing; the corpus does not establish a distinctive hair or eye color in the cited evidence. She is attentive, affectionate, and diligent, performing personal service to the best of her ability and offering William both rest and nourishment. Charmaine is described as an excellent warrior and magician even after losing her memories. She and the other Elven attendants clear parts of the Atlantis Dungeon when household work is complete, and William later places her on the front line with Chloee against the Holy Order's weaker troops. Her blood sustains William's Vampiric Necromancer condition and helps prevent Bloodthirst from pushing him into a berserk state. Donation is not harmless or unlimited: William rotates away from a donor to prevent anemia, and his dependence on Charmaine and the other Elves grows when his craving intensifies. Charmaine also functions as an estate coordinator. William directs new residents to bring problems to her in his absence, making her a delegated point of contact within his Domain. This is administrative trust rather than a demonstrated magical authority over the Domain itself. (Chapter 1101)
