Belle

Belle is William's first love from Earth, a nationally skilled archer, and eventually a peak Pseudo-God combatant. Separation across worlds makes her an emotional constant in William's life long before she becomes active in Hestia's wars. He loses memories and pieces of his former self, yet repeatedly preserves or recovers his love for her; Belle, meanwhile, chooses to trust the extraordinary life he describes and waits for the future they promised each other.

After the Holy Order of Light summons her to Hestia, Belle becomes a formidable ranged fighter caught between the Pope's account of the Dark Prince and her own knowledge of William. Her allegiance ultimately rests with the person she knows rather than the institution that trained her. She helps restore William, fights the Army of Destruction, and builds a life that connects Earth and Hestia.

Biography

A promise kept across two worlds

Belle first appears through William's farewell on Earth and remains his strongest unresolved attachment after his reincarnation. He thinks of her while training in Lont and hesitates to accept Wendy's confession because beginning a new relationship while still emotionally committed to Belle would be unfair. Memory loss later erases parts of their shared past and even the feelings attached to some memories, but William holds onto Belle's name. His grief when those recollections fade establishes that she is not merely an idealized childhood crush; remembering her is part of preserving continuity with the person he was before Hestia. William eventually returns to Earth and reunites with Belle. She accepts his account of reincarnation, magic, and his relationships in Hestia, while insisting that he tell her the truth rather than protect her with omissions. Their reunion develops into an acknowledged engagement and marriage with her parents' blessing. Belle struggles with the number of women in William's life and remains competitive about her place in his heart, but she also watches his memories, sees what he endured, and chooses compassion over an ultimatum. When supernatural enemies attack K-City, she stays close to the civilians William is protecting and survives behind a golden barrier while he and his allies prevent the city's destruction. The archer summoned to save the Dark Prince

The Holy Order of Light uses an Eleventh-Circle summoning to bring Belle to Hestia, where the Pope presents William's corrupted Dark Prince persona as a threat that must be cleansed. Freya trains Belle in the Valkyries' domain and raises her to peak Pseudo-God strength, giving her the power to act on that mission. Belle supports Holy Order offensives as a long-range archer, but she never targets innocent people in William's territory. A confrontation with Wendy and a secret meeting with Shannon force her to test the Pope's narrative against people who also love William. Belle agrees to collaborate because her purpose is to save him, not to help either Light or Darkness claim him. (Chapters 1270–1308, 1325–1340)

Belle's arrows and Light power are used against William only because she believes cleansing the corruption is the sole way to recover him. After the Palace of Light conflict, she abandons the Pope and joins William's side as one of its strongest Pseudo-Gods. She, Wendy, and Estelle help protect him while the missing Heavenly Virtues are gathered and his soul is restored. Belle later trains for the Army of Destruction and allows Freya to descend through her body for a brief battle against Yaldabaoth, fighting beside Wendy and Estelle at near-divine power. She survives the war, remains William's wife, and has a daughter, Stella. The stabilized Bifrost Bridge eventually lets Belle travel freely between Hestia and Earth with her child. Appearance and personality

Belle is repeatedly described as a black-haired beauty with a youthful, model-like appearance. Her poise and looks attract many admirers at her university, but her most distinctive physical discipline is archery: years of practice give her a steady stance, precise release, and national-level accuracy even before she gains supernatural power. In Hestia she fights from the back of the Roc Aethon, using distance and aerial mobility to control the battlefield. (Chapters 895–903, 946–947, 1307–1308, 1325)

She is loyal, self-possessed, competitive, and direct about emotional commitments. Belle can be jealous of William's other partners and initially measures their relationship by the limits the two discussed on Earth. However, she is capable of revising those expectations when confronted with the lives and sacrifices behind his larger family. She is wary rather than credulous: she distrusts Shannon at their first secret meeting, questions the information she receives, and distinguishes saving William from obeying the Pope. She can release volleys rapidly, scout over long distances, and support other Pseudo-Gods without entering their immediate reach. • Peak Pseudo-God power: Freya's training elevates Belle to the peak of the Pseudo-God rank. She can fly, reinforce arrows with magic, survive exchanges with other Pseudo-Gods, and deter entire organizations. • Illumina and Light arrows: Belle can infuse arrows with Light and fire the piercing technique Illumina. Its power can contest high-level weapons, but a sufficiently skilled opponent can intercept or counter it. (Chapter 1308)
