Tian Lin
Tian Lin is a World Paragon of Crimson Flame Planet and a member of a Tian Family branch exiled from True Sacred Yin World. He recruits Su Ming into an alliance against Jing Nan Zi and the True Guards, then sacrifices himself when the expedition to release the Duke of Crimson Flame collapses. His life force condenses into the Growth Armor that Su Ming subsequently uses.
Biography
South Morning and the Immortal conflict
Tian Lin meets Su Ming after the latter subdues the Crimson Python Phoenix. Rather than prolong conflict with Mei Lan, he mediates and welcomes the possibility of a third World Paragon on Crimson Flame Planet. His courtesy is strategic as well as genuine: he sees through signs of Su Ming's disguise and sealed cultivation and believes Su Ming's physical strength can help release the imprisoned Crimson Flame, whose freedom could end the planet's vulnerability to True Guard Jing Nan Zi. Tian Lin's own family, a branch driven out of True Sacred Yin World, has suffered repeatedly under that enemy. (Chapters 757–769)
The resulting expedition joins Tian Lin, Su Ming, Mei Lan, and their allies in the sealed depths. Tian Lin contributes his World Plane cultivation and his fusion with a sal tree, but Jing Nan Zi's command of laws and complete World Plane power overwhelms the group. Once escape and victory both appear impossible, Tian Lin protects the alliance's remaining hope by moving Su Ming away and igniting his Nascent Divinity and tree-body. His self-destruction kills him but leaves his enormous vitality condensed as a green seed, the Growth Armor, which Su Ming inherits. The sacrifice turns Tian Lin's long wish to resist the True Guards into a final transfer of power rather than a personal victory. (Chapters 770–782)
Appearance and personality
Tian Lin appears as a middle-aged man and carries the composed bearing of one of Crimson Flame Planet's two established World Paragons. He is perceptive enough to notice Su Ming's concealed condition and diplomatic enough to prevent an avoidable feud. Beneath that caution is a strong obligation to his family and adopted world. His final choice shows that self-preservation is secondary when his death can preserve an ally capable of continuing the resistance.
Abilities and cultivation
World Plane cultivation
Tian Lin is a Lord of a World Plane and can participate in battles far beyond ordinary cultivators. His realm does not make him equal to every practitioner at that level: Jing Nan Zi's complete control and law-speaking techniques overpower him and the combined alliance. The confrontation demonstrates both Tian Lin's standing and the decisive limit imposed by a stronger World Paragon. (Chapters 757–781)
Sal-tree fusion
Tian Lin has fused his existence with a sal tree, giving him immense vitality and allowing arboreal manifestations on a vast scale. He can extend tree and forest power in combat, while the plant body also supplies the life force behind his final self-destruction. This integration is not invulnerability; it can be burned away with his Nascent Divinity, and doing so kills him permanently. (Chapters 770–782)
Growth Armor
At death, Tian Lin's accumulated vitality condenses into a palm-sized green seed called Growth Armor. The item can temporarily expand the user's Atman across a broad area, but its vitality is finite: it grows dull after use. This capability belongs to the posthumous seed in Su Ming's custody, not to Tian Lin as a continuing living state. (Chapters 782–804)
