Hua Yu

Hua Yu is one of four cultivators who enlist Su Ming and Xu Hui to operate the Xuan Family's supreme treasure during an expedition into Divine Essence Star Ocean and the Fifth Kiln. His distinctive contribution is the Soul Sealing Art. Although cautious and perceptive, he remains dependent on the group's constructed body and is last seen being consumed by a lethal swamp.

Biography

Divine Essence and Ecang

Hua Yu first meets Su Ming after the latter kills three Heaven Traversers. Recognizing the danger faster than some companions, he returns a captured Nascent Divinity when Su Ming challenges their attempt to leave and later argues that Su Ming can contend with a Master of Fate, Lives, and Death. Fear shapes his cooperation: he joins Xuan Shang's plan, contributes blood to the golden core of the family treasure, and accepts Su Ming as its main soul because the expedition needs strength beyond the quartet's own. Inside the combined body, Hua Yu contributes cultivation, divine sense, and his Soul Sealing Art while Su Ming controls their collective output. The arrangement brings access to the Fifth Kiln but makes Hua Yu vulnerable to the main soul's decisions and to attacks that strike the construct's members directly. His alarm at Su Ming's growing dominance is balanced by the realization that without him the group would likely lose both treasure and life. (Chapters 969–998)

The Fifth Furnace and Morning Dao

Once stronger contributors leave, the construct's offensive strength falls to Solar Kalpa Realm, exposing the original quartet's limitations. The Fifth Kiln eventually scatters them. Su Ming glimpses Hua Yu moving through a swamp unaware of watching green eyes; when next shown, Hua Yu is pale and laughing brokenly in a sea of flowers, most of his body already dissolved into mud and plant nutrients. The source does not explicitly narrate his death, so his final status is unresolved despite the apparently fatal condition. (Chapters 1002–1022)

Appearance and personality

The dossier gives no distinctive physical description beyond Hua Yu's unusual blood, which is red with a blue cast approaching purple. He is observant, cautious, and quick to yield when confrontation is disadvantageous. His analysis of Su Ming is firmer than his companions', but his nervous humor and later panic reveal how little control the expedition members retain once inside the kiln.

Abilities and cultivation

Cultivation and collective-body contribution

Hua Yu is powerful enough that, together with Xuan Shang, Yun You, and Nian Yin, he can help sustain the Xuan Family supreme treasure. With only the four original contributors, its maximum demonstrated combat level is around completed Solar Kalpa Realm; stronger performance depends on Su Ming, Xu Hui, and other added souls. Hua Yu's power is thus real but amplified and directed through equipment he does not control alone. (Chapters 966–1003)

Soul Sealing Art

Hua Yu can seal another person's soul. While controlling the collective body, Su Ming borrows this art as light in his palm to suppress Flame Fiends' Progenitor's Nascent Divinity and consciousness. The technique requires the target first to be brought into a vulnerable state in this demonstration; it is not shown overcoming an unrestricted Mastery Realm opponent by itself. (Chapters 950, 994)

Divine sense

Hua Yu's divine sense can join those of the other contributors and be projected by the main soul over an entire dimension to search for relocation distortions. This is a pooled application within the supreme treasure rather than evidence of that range when acting alone. (Chapter 983)
