Dao Hua

Dao Hua is a Morning Dao Sect Dynast candidate who survives the anointment trials and receives an enormous advancement from Progenitor Dao Chen's Flourishing Lotus. His hostility toward Dao Kong continues into the ceremony, but a later Saint Defier replacement operation successfully Possesses him during the war against the Immortals' Union.

Biography

The Fifth Furnace and Morning Dao

Dao Hua enters the Dynast trials already opposed to Dao Kong, having used Dao Fei Xian against him. He kills two opponents and is one of three candidates to succeed, but the resulting title brings bitterness rather than uncomplicated triumph because Dao Kong's performance eclipses his own. At the Progenitor's altar, reverence turns to ecstasy when the Flourishing Lotus advances him from great completion of World Plane Realm through Lunar Kalpa into Solar Kalpa Realm and adds unexplained runic light to his eyes. The new power makes Dao Hua more openly arrogant, yet it does not erase the gulf between him and Su Ming: the latter's sea of fire throws him back, and only the Flourishing Lotus prevents his death. Assigned as an overseer in the full war against the Immortals' Union, Dao Hua becomes a target of Bai Feng's replacement plan. A nearby cultivator collapses into fog, Dao Hua shudders, and a strange glare appears before he resumes action unnoticed. Su Ming later concludes that the soul thread successfully Possessed him. The corpus does not establish whether Dao Hua's original soul survives that takeover. (Chapters 1100–1128)

Appearance and personality

Dao Hua is a middle-aged man. He approaches Dao Chen's altar with fervent reverence and fears appearing disrespectful by moving too quickly. Promotion replaces earlier indignation with visible excitement and arrogance. His confidence remains externally supported: it rises sharply after the Progenitor's gift and is checked immediately when Su Ming's uncontrolled power overwhelms him.

Abilities and cultivation

Solar Kalpa cultivation

Dao Hua begins the altar ceremony at great completion of World Plane Realm. The Flourishing Lotus forces a rapid, explicit ascent through Lunar Kalpa Realm and into Solar Kalpa Realm. This is a granted advancement rather than a gradual personal breakthrough, and his later inability to resist Su Ming's sea of fire demonstrates that realm alone does not make their combat power comparable. Flourishing Lotus

Nine lotuses surround Dao Hua after activation. The robe records what its wearer believes to be the body's best state and can turn back time toward that condition after severe injury. It saves Dao Hua from immediate death under Su Ming's eruption, but it does not prevent him from being thrown back or later block the covert soul-thread replacement. (Chapters 1094–1100, 1123)

Saint Defier possession

A soul thread derived from a black-robed Saint Defier expert enters through a staged battlefield accident and replaces Dao Hua without alerting nearby troops. This is hostile, externally imposed control, not a technique Dao Hua learns. Its quiet success leaves the state of his original will unknown. (Chapters 1123–1128)
