Sariel

Sariel is the Archangel of Justice, a heavenly observer created to expose wrongdoing even among the gods. After questioning divine sins, Sariel is cast into hell, loses memories and identity, and becomes the great demon Drasion. Grid restores Sariel's angelic self and accepts them as an apostle. Their story centers on guilt, anger, and recovery: the same Wicked Eye that once made Sariel an inconvenient judge later fuels a demonic relapse, but trust in Grid and ordinary companionship allow them to abandon revenge without abandoning justice. Biography

Yangbans, Gods, and New Legends

Sariel's name first appears through the Templar leader who blesses Grid, but later events distinguish that figure from the original archangel. The true Sariel had been responsible for monitoring humanity and guarding souls from sin. When Sariel turned that scrutiny toward the gods, the gods expelled them from heaven, sealed their memories, and left them to become Drasion in hell. During Drasion's defeat, two angels recognize Sariel and form a Trinity with them, restoring enough identity for Sariel to remember both the divine betrayal and the humans harmed while they lived as a great demon. Sariel asks humanity for punishment because they failed to expose the gods and committed atrocities as Drasion. Grid does not treat that remorse as grounds for rejection. When Zeratul returns, Sariel is intimidated by memories of the god who helped cast them out. A later duel with the constellation god Dara reopens the same wound. Dara's apology reminds Sariel that the gods knew the truth and stood aside; demonic energy overwhelms their reason, the Wicked Eye condemns Dara and even Grid, and the inherited wings turn into blades. Grid refuses to let Dara kill Sariel, while Irene's insistence that justice cannot require every sinner's death restores Sariel's reason.
