Lee Jeong

Lee Jeong is an East Continent martial artist and one of the Triad, the foremost followers of War God Zeratul. Once a worshipper of the yangbans, he turns against them and believes the Martial God's techniques will let him defeat them. He clashes with Mercedes and Grid, then obeys Zeratul's revelation during the Drasion raid despite its harm to humanity. Grid kills him under Drasion's Doom, but Lee Jeong's martial arts and restraints pass to his victor. (Chapters 1114–1116, 1350–1352, 1354, 1361, 1410, and 1592)

Biography

Recurring role and later consequences

Lee Jeong introduces himself while fighting Mercedes as one of Zeratul's Triad. He wears restraints to develop his senses and body and tries to recruit Mercedes after recognizing her talent. As a native of the East Continent, he once worshipped the expelled gods, or yangbans, before reaching the end of that path in anger and resentment. He considers Zeratul's techniques the means to avenge himself and treats human service as inferior for a warrior pursuing the ultimate. (Chapters 1114 and 1116)

Grid's arrival destabilizes that certainty without changing Lee Jeong's allegiance. Lee Jeong withstands Grid's speed, counters while electrocuted, and uses techniques that darken an opponent's vision. When swordsmanship and magic penetrate a defense he thought complete, Lee Jeong recognizes an ultimate technique achieved without the Martial God's help. Grid, Mercedes, and Asmophel severely wound him, but their conversation establishes that Grid is not an agent of the yangbans. After Grid summons reinforcements, Lee Jeong leaves Kyle behind and departs as a rival rather than an enemy tied to his original grudge. (Chapters 1115–1116)

During the campaign against Drasion, Lee Jeong follows a revelation that places him against the human coalition. Kyle questions why the Martial God would harm worshippers while a great demon threatens them, but Lee Jeong answers with faith rather than an explanation and refuses to measure a god's purpose by human judgment. That obedience isolates him. He expects Drasion to crush the armies and treats interference as disloyalty, even though the battlefield demonstrates that his command serves neither human survival nor the restoration he once claimed to seek against the expelled gods. Lee Jeong fights Grid while Drasion's Doom reverses healing. His breathless movements turn limbs into whips, and lifelong conditioning gives him enough endurance to expect victory once Grid's recovery is disabled. The same curse creates his fatal weakness: Doom classifies him as undead, making Grid's divine flames exceptionally destructive. Lee Jeong cannot catch Grid's repeated Shunpo and burns to ash while forcing a final exchange. His death follows from the demon's field and Grid's tactics, not a sudden loss of martial skill. His consequences are posthumous. Grid receives Lee Jeong's restraint set and two secret techniques, then incorporates his hand-to-hand combat into a broad arsenal. Another Triad member dismisses Lee Jeong as inferior, yet compares Grid against him and recognizes their shared restraint tradition. By Grid's later battle against an old dragon, Lee Jeong's martial art remains among the abilities Grid exhausts. His faith ends in failure, but the discipline beneath it survives independently of Zeratul's revelation. (Chapters 1361, 1406, 1410, and 1592)

Appearance and personality

Lee Jeong conceals his eyes and nose beneath a thick cloth and trains with his wrists and ankles restrained. He does not show his bare face to people he allows to live, making the blindfold both a training device and a barrier to recognition. His body is conditioned to move without normal breathing and to twist its joints into unusual striking angles. (Chapters 1114, 1350–1351, and 1361)

He is proud, observant, evangelical about martial excellence, and blindly loyal to Zeratul. Lee Jeong readily praises Kyle, Mercedes, and Grid when their talents surprise him, and he tries to bring worthy warriors into the Martial God's path. His resentment toward the yangbans is genuine, but it does not make him skeptical of a new divine master. When Kyle challenges the revelation's harm, Lee Jeong substitutes faith for moral reasoning, exposing the contradiction between his stated desire to defeat abusive gods and his obedience to Zeratul. Abilities, classes, and skills

As a Triad member, Lee Jeong is a transcendent capable of threatening kingdoms. His hand-to-hand system uses extreme control of muscles, joints, breathing, and senses; he can fight blindfolded, counter extraordinary speed, attack with fingers or whip-like limbs, and continue through status effects by transcendent will. Black Death Light interferes with an opponent's vision, while his defensive method redirects or blocks dense barrages. Removing his restraints substantially raises his combat ability, showing that the equipment suppresses range and movement during routine training. (Chapters 1114–1116 and 1350–1352)

His stamina and tactical adaptation are exceptional, but his defenses are imperfect. Grid's sword-and-magic interaction exceeds Lee Jeong's expectations, cooperation lets several opponents severely wound him, and restrictive equipment becomes a liability when he misjudges when to remove it. Doom blocks recovery and changes his nature, allowing divine flames to exploit an undead weakness while Shunpo denies contact. His latest state is death, though Grid later uses his hand-to-hand combat. (Chapters 1115–1116, 1354, 1361, and 1592)

Relationships

Grid first appears to Lee Jeong as a possible ally of the expelled gods, then as proof that a human can approach ultimate technique without Zeratul. Their second fight ends Lee Jeong's life, but Grid inherits his training tools and techniques, preserving the martial achievement while rejecting the faith that directed it against humanity. Mercedes earns Lee Jeong's admiration through Keen Insight and disciplined swordsmanship. He repeatedly urges her to abandon a human king for the Martial God, while she answers that Grid's items and example are greater than the supposedly ultimate technique. Her resistance is the first clear challenge to his assumption that gifted warriors naturally belong under Zeratul. (Chapters 1114–1116)

Kyle is a younger follower whose potential Lee Jeong respects. At Drasion's battlefield, Kyle's refusal to obey a revelation that harms humans makes him an ideological opponent. Lee Jeong cannot explain the command beyond divine authority, and Kyle consequently loses the awe he once felt toward a Triad member. (Chapters 1115 and 1350–1352)

Drasion is not Lee Jeong's ally by personal bond, but the great demon's raid frames his final choice and death. Lee Jeong expects Drasion to erase the human forces, then fights on the revelation's side; Doom ultimately turns the conditions of that fight against him. (Chapters 1350–1352 and 1354)
