Goldhit
Goldhit is an imperial great magician, the master of the Tower of Eternity, and one of the Saharan Empire's Five Pillars. More than a century old, she pursues eternal life by taking gifted children's bodies and incorporating other magicians' power into herself. Her attempt to acquire Braham's enhanced magic brings her into conflict with Grid, whose destruction of her tower's thunder stone exposes her crimes. After becoming a lich, she seeks Braham through the Gauss Kingdom, only for him to defeat, dismember, and condemn her to the hydra's immortal torment in the Abyss. (Chapters 800, 804–806, 808–809, 976–977, 1158, and 1173–1174)
Biography
Recurring role and later consequences
Goldhit first reaches Grid through her subordinate Raji, inviting him to the Tower of Eternity because he can use magic inherited from Braham. She is already one of the continent's leading magicians, but decades without progress have turned enhanced magic into an obsession. Rather than greet Grid directly, she observes him through a crystal sphere, extends the tower's trials whenever he succeeds without casting the spell she wants, and finally deploys the lightning god that embodies years of research. Grid's unconventional victory gives her respect for him, but it does not displace her purpose: she still asks to become his disciple so she can obtain Braham's theory. (Chapters 800–802 and 804)
Their meeting reveals the price of Goldhit's longevity. Her childlike body is not the result of rejuvenation; the Tower of Eternity kidnaps magically gifted children, selects them as vessels, and retains the rejected children as experimental subjects. Goldhit also preserves the thunder stone despite knowing its connection to Astaroth because it supplies immense magical value. When the great demon manifests in the imperial palace, she arrives with Meteor Strike but is immediately knocked unconscious by the demon's field. During that absence, Grid destroys the thunder stone, discovers the imprisoned children, kills the tower magicians who defend the practice, and takes the children away. (Chapters 804–806 and 808–809)
Goldhit later commands imperial forces near the evil eyes' village. She pressures Gauss soldiers into fighting, anticipates studying living evil eyes, and treats both children and weaker peoples as livestock. Her resentment toward Grid has grown because he destroyed the source of the tower's power, yet she still covets the magic connected to Braham. When Grid's Duke of Wisdom knowledge neutralizes her earth spell and repeated lightning overwhelms the limitations of her current body, she yields the road rather than risk direct defeat. The encounter converts her earlier condescension into fear and forces her to revise how she approaches him. (Chapters 976–977)
After acquiring another young body and becoming a lich, Goldhit accepts Gauss's war request because it offers a path to Braham and a chance to punish Grid. The result is the opposite of the enlightenment she expects. Braham reduces her to a severed head, carries her into the Abyss, and identifies the mana core of his disciple Lilis fused to Goldhit's own. He separates Lilis's core, preserves Goldhit's immortality, and drops her into hydra venom that causes endless pain without death. Goldhit's pursuit of eternal life therefore succeeds only in the narrowest sense: she survives, but without freedom, a body, or access to the power she stole. (Chapters 1146, 1158, and 1173–1174)
Appearance and personality
Goldhit appears as a very small girl with plaited red hair, freckles, ruddy skin, and round eyes, despite being more than 120 years old. Her old-fashioned posture, formal speech, and distinctive elderly laugh conflict with that borrowed body. Later she occupies the body of an eight-year-old blonde girl, confirming that her apparent age and features change with the vessel she has taken rather than with natural growth. (Chapters 800, 804, and 1158)
She is brilliant, acquisitive, theatrical, and deeply self-serving. Goldhit values magical knowledge, rare materials, and survival above other lives, and she rationalizes kidnapping, experimentation, and the thunder stone's danger as acceptable costs. She can recognize another person's greatness, as she does when watching Grid's equipment and Braham's magic, but admiration rarely restrains her appetite. Her confidence is also brittle: failed spells, public humiliation, and threats to her immortality rapidly produce panic, shame, or desperate submission. (Chapters 801–802, 804–806, 976–977, and 1173–1174)
Abilities, classes, and skills
Goldhit is called the Magician King and is recognized as one of the strongest human magicians of her era. She uses master-level Magic Detection across the Tower of Eternity, Teleport, layered barriers, physical reinforcement magic, and Meteor Strike. Her tower guardians combine magical resistance with physical force, while the lightning god concentrates her knowledge, capital, and a thunder stone into a weapon whose attack power rivals a solo-number knight. These constructs are restricted to the tower, and her own high-level casting still requires activation time and can be interrupted or denied by superior magical knowledge. (Chapters 800, 802, 804–806, and 976–977)
Her longevity depends on appropriation rather than self-sufficient transcendence. Goldhit transfers herself into children with exceptional magic power, later becomes a lich, and maintains an immortal mana core to survive bodily destruction. The borrowed vessels can impose combat limits, while Braham discovers that part of her power comes from Lilis's attached mana core rather than Goldhit's own achievement. Once he isolates her core in his image world, even repeated death cannot free her; the same immortality she cultivated makes the hydra's poison uniquely effective as perpetual punishment. (Chapters 808–809, 977, 1158, and 1173–1174)
Relationships
Grid is first a prospective source of enhanced magic and later Goldhit's enemy. She subjects him to escalating trials, offers wealth and influence for his knowledge, and comes to respect his craft, but her crimes against children make reconciliation impossible. Grid destroys her thunder stone, rescues the captives, defeats her magic near the evil eyes' village, and becomes the obstacle around which her later plans are arranged. (Chapters 800–802, 804, 808–809, and 976–977)
Braham represents the pinnacle Goldhit cannot reach. Her magical lineage comes through his fourth disciple, Lilis, and she believes direct instruction from him will finally grant enhanced magic. Braham instead judges that she consumed Lilis, separates the stolen mana core, and deliberately leaves Goldhit immortal inside hydra venom. Even at the edge of that punishment, Goldhit remains awed by the scale of his magic. (Chapters 800, 1146, 1158, and 1173–1174)
Gyuratan, secretly Astaroth, is linked to the thunder stone Goldhit preserves for research and weapons. She expects to overpower the weakened great demon, but his field penetrates her layered defenses before she can cast. Her failure and Grid's destruction of the stone remove the foundation of Astaroth's power while exposing how Goldhit's greed helped create the imperial crisis. (Chapters 804–806)
Items
- Thunder stone: A material associated with Astaroth that powers the Tower of Eternity and Goldhit's lightning-god guardians. Goldhit refuses to destroy it because of its research and military value, and Grid ultimately breaks it to weaken the great demon. (Chapters 802, 804–806, and 808)
- Crystal sphere: A monitoring device through which Goldhit watches Grid ascend the Tower of Eternity and studies his mana, equipment, and spell use. (Chapters 800–802)
