Uriel

Uriel is the archangel first known by the modifier Demon-like Judge of Fire. She begins as an exuberant constellation watching Seoul but becomes a companion whose personal loyalty to Jung Heewon, Kim Dokja, and their community repeatedly diverges from Eden's institutional decisions. Her development is therefore not a simple rejection of Absolute Good: it is a sustained attempt to make judgment answer to people rather than alignment labels.

Biography

The judge watching Seoul

Uriel first enters Kim Dokja's story as one of the four constellations offering him sponsorship. He recognizes Demon-like Judge of Fire as a powerful Archangel of Absolute Good whose interventions carry substantial restrictions, and he refuses her together with the other candidates. She continues watching anyway. Her messages, coin gifts, and delighted responses favor courage, cooperation, and companionship, turning a severe modifier associated with punishment into one of Bihyung's most emotionally transparent spectators. (Chapters 7, 17, 80, 95)

Her sponsorship of Jung Heewon converts those preferences into responsibility. Hour of Judgment and its hellfire can punish qualifying evil, but the Dark Castle exposes how cruel the authorization system can become: once Kim is made the 73rd Demon King, Heewon's attack can save the party only by killing him. Uriel covers her eyes, refuses approval, and repeatedly says she does not want his death. She consents only after Kim argues that Heewon will otherwise die, leaving her to share the grief of a choice the scenario forced upon all three of them. (Chapters 187–188)

From constellation to companion

At the Constellation Banquet, Uriel finally meets Kim through a physical manifestation. Wearing her favored black dress, she embraces him so enthusiastically that she briefly loses sight of her official purpose: proposing Eden's Messiah's Path. Her institutional task soon yields to a personal decision when she openly supports the nebula proposed by Kim and Yoo Joonghyuk, alarming the surrounding angels. She and Persephone then shield the pair from a foreign constellation's true voice and attempt to move them out of danger. (Chapters 150–151)

That personal investment endures after Kim's apparent death. Uriel repeatedly watches Yoo Joonghyuk, asks why he is not searching, and refuses to accept that Kim is gone; where normal channels fail, mediated bodies and a Uriel doll let her continue warning Yoo against self-sacrifice. Her choices cost her three years of detention and probation in Eden, including a ban on summoning a symbolic body. When she returns and apologizes to Heewon, the incarnation recognizes sorrow, joy, guilt, and relief rather than a remote sponsor's command. The destructive Uriel of the 1863rd turn—last archangel of a ruined Eden—is a distinct alternate counterpart, not this Uriel's transformation. (Chapters 206, 212, 219, 292–305)

War against prescribed good and evil

Gigantomachia gives Uriel language for the distinction she has been living. She explicitly declares that she has come to help her incarnation, not to represent Eden, and rejects the scenario's convenient designation of the Breaking the Sky Sword Saint as evil. To Uriel, the manufactured opposition reflects spectators' appetite for a fight rather than justice; she instead wants to strike what she calls real evil. Her judgment has become relational and self-questioning without ceasing to care for the angels and stories that constitute her home. (Chapter 333)

The Great War of Saints and Demons makes that tension physical. Uriel descends only half of her true body, protects lower angels with Hell Flames Ignition, and is injured while fighting multiple Demon Kings before Kim and Heewon rescue her. Soon afterward Eden places her opposite Han Sooyoung and the Abyssal Black Flame Dragon. Her Flames of Retribution can stop the black flame, but her attacks become half-hearted when obedience would sacrifice the company, and she stops. Heewon's later Hour of Judgment resolves the same contradiction by replacing Eden's approval with a company vote; that new mechanism is Heewon's evolution, not a fresh power invented by Uriel. The archangel at the ending

The Final Scenario again places Uriel beside a version of herself without making them one person. The Outer God King Living Flame is the 999th-turn Uriel, while the present Uriel supports Heewon against and eventually alongside that counterpart. Later, when Heewon begs her to rescue Kim, Uriel calls the dead angels of Eden and inherits their Stories. As the nebula's new Great Good, she dons platinum armor, spreads white wings, wields Flames of Conflagration, and invokes Season of Light and Darkness against Myth-grade enemies. The culmination is costly: her wings break, and she remains at the Final Ark's door so the company can pass. (Chapters 477, 501–503)

Uriel survives that sacrifice, but neither Eden nor her former power survives unchanged. As the Star Stream loses its luster, she awakens wingless and later lives with Gabriel in the industrial complex, wearing a gray hoodie and track pants instead of her black dress. Her room contains Kim Dokja figurines and a lone Heewon figure labeled as her one and only incarnation. She joins Group Regression, buys time with Hellfire in the 1865th turn, becomes a public performer with Sun Wukong and Black Flame Dragon, and supplies Han Sooyoung with recollections for the manuscript. These are the actions of a living companion and witness, not post-system constellation messages, and the corpus does not confirm restoration of her peak Great Good strength. Appearance and personality

Uriel's manifestations join angelic beauty to details that undercut solemn expectations. At the banquet, Kim sees a beautiful angel whose face somehow resembles a small demon, dressed in thin black silk with an open back. She is physically affectionate, immediately embracing him, and her small stature makes her enthusiasm feel even less like a distant divine audience. In war, the same body becomes severe: a half-descended Uriel can appear expressionless, bloodied, and mentally unstable beneath the pressure of sustained archangel Status. As Eden's Great Good she wears platinum armor and white wings, but those wings are broken while she holds the Ark door. (Chapters 150, 384, 501–503)

After the system's decline, the loss of her wings is not presented as the loss of her identity. She remains small and emerald-eyed, returns home carrying junk food, replaces ceremonial clothing with a gray hoodie and track pants, and surrounds herself with handmade or collected figurines. Her personality retains the full range seen in the channel: romantic enthusiasm, easy fluster, profanity, possessive affection, sincere grief, and terrifying battlefield focus. What changes is her relationship to those emotions. She no longer experiences people only through a screen or an alignment office; she lives with them, remembers for them, and accepts an ordinary future alongside the grandeur she once embodied. Abilities, attributes, and stories

Archangel Status and descent

As an Archangel of Absolute Good, Uriel possesses Status far beyond an ordinary incarnation. She can communicate remotely, project a symbolic body, or descend more directly by manifesting part of her true body. Greater presence gives her immediate combat force and allows her to protect other angels, but it consumes Probability and exposes the manifestation to injury and mental overload. Eden can also restrict access: after her detention, probation prevents symbolic-body summoning. Her half descent in the Great War becomes unstable, and her later Great Good body is physically broken at the Ark. (Chapters 150–151, 305, 384–386, 501–503)

Hellfire and judgment flames

Fire is Uriel's principal expression of divine combat authority, but the named forms should not be treated as one unrestricted attack. Hell Flames Ignition burns through enemies while sustaining her side in the Great War; Flames of Retribution counters Black Flame Dragon under Eden's alignment conflict; and, after inheriting Eden, Flames of Conflagration operates at the scale of her Great Good Status. These fires damage supernatural Status and stories rather than behaving as ordinary flame. Comparable Myth-grade opponents, Probability, scenario alignment, bodily damage, and Uriel's own unwillingness to harm companions can all reduce or halt their effect. (Chapters 384, 394, 501–503)

Sponsorship and Hour of Judgment

Uriel's sponsorship makes Jung Heewon a judge capable of using Hour of Judgment and hellfire-related stigma power. In its early form, the ability depends on a target qualifying for judgment and on authorization associated with Absolute Good; Uriel can personally refuse approval, but Eden's institutional majority can also prevent activation for political reasons. This arrangement gives Heewon tremendous force while making the sponsor system a moral bottleneck. Heewon's evolved version later asks Kim Dokja's Company to vote instead, so its independence should be credited to Heewon's growth rather than described as Uriel granting a stronger edition. Channel support and mediated manifestations

Before direct companionship, Uriel acts through constellation messages, coin rewards, Probability expenditure, and the sponsor channel. She can also reach restricted spaces through dolls or temporary symbolic manifestations, allowing warning and emotional contact without a full descent. These forms extend her presence but do not evade every scenario rule: closed channels can isolate her, a symbolic body can be prohibited by Eden, and direct intervention remains costly. A doll or manifestation is a vessel for the present Uriel; the Uriel of another regression turn is a separate world-line individual and cannot be inferred from the vessel's behavior. Great Good and Season of Light and Darkness

When Eden collapses, Uriel accepts the Stories of its dead angels and becomes the new Great Good. This inheritance permits her to use the Giant Story Season of Light and Darkness, recreating the structural conflict through which Eden's power is expressed, and to name an answering evil that validates her modifier in battle. It is a collective inheritance rather than an effortless personal upgrade: several Myth-grade beings oppose it, the Ark battle breaks her wings, and the Star Stream's collapse later strips constellation power. Her subsequent Hellfire use shows continuing combat ability, but no supplied chapter restores Eden or establishes her return to the same peak. (Chapters 501–503, 516, 529, 537)

Relationships

• Jung Heewon: Uriel's one and only incarnation develops into her moral partner and friend. Uriel authorizes Heewon's judgment, suffers when the system turns it against Kim, and later openly helps Heewon without claiming to represent Eden. Heewon's company-vote evolution frees judgment from institutional approval without severing their bond, and the wingless Uriel still keeps her figure beside an entire room devoted to Kim.
• Kim Dokja: Kim rejects Uriel as sponsor but becomes the participant she most visibly cherishes. She rewards him, embraces him at the banquet, mourns his apparent deaths, risks Eden's punishment, inherits its dead to rescue him, and contributes testimony to the manuscript meant to reach his fragments. Their relationship changes from spectator and incarnation candidate into two companions who repeatedly ask painful acts of trust from one another.
• Yoo Joonghyuk: Uriel's intense interest in Yoo's relationship with Kim initially carries the comic energy of a channel fan. After Kim disappears, however, she watches Yoo's grief, demands that he search, and warns him not to sacrifice himself. Those actions treat him as a person whose survival matters, not merely one half of a favored story.
• Eden and Metatron: Eden is Uriel's home, community, and source of authority, but it is not interchangeable with her conscience. The nebula detains her, restricts her manifestations, and later orders actions that would sacrifice her friends. She still protects its lower angels and eventually inherits its dead, carrying their Stories forward without restoring the same monopoly over judgment.
• Han Sooyoung: Alignment scenarios briefly make Han and Uriel formal enemies. Uriel can stop the black flame directed through Han's side, yet cannot sincerely complete an attack that would destroy the company. In the epilogue, their relationship becomes collaborative memory work: Uriel brings records and testimony that Han incorporates into the manuscript.
• Abyssal Black Flame Dragon: Absolute Good and Absolute Evil place the two constellations against each other during the Great War, but Uriel's hesitation exposes the artificiality of that opposition. Their later alliance and shared idol group demonstrate that the Star Stream's alignment partition never fully describes their personal relationship.
• Gabriel: Gabriel shares Uriel's wish to join Kim Dokja's Company and later becomes her housemate after Eden's end. Their ordinary industrial-complex life provides a continuation for the archangels after their institutional heaven and much of their visible power have disappeared.
• Sun Wukong: A fellow long-term channel supporter who later fights beside the company and shares Uriel's post-scenario public life. Their partnership carries constellation fame into a world where old modifiers no longer determine every relationship.
