Kim Yongpal
Kim Yongpal is the last survivor of the Pink Kids, a timid and unexpectedly gentle incarnation whose reluctance to harm others separates him from his group's future reputation.
Biography
The last Pink Kid
Kim survives the first scenario without deliberately killing anyone: he happens to step on an ant, the same loophole Kim Dokja later uses as a survival precedent. Although known as part of the Pink Kids, he has not yet become the criminal the original story predicted. Kim therefore keeps him alive after the other members are gone, recognizing that the future attached to a group name is not an accomplished fact. (Chapters 153–155)
Overwhelmed in the Dark Castle
Yongpal lacks the strength and temperament of the party's front-line fighters. A demon earl's released Story makes him collapse, and his Dark Castle ranking is extremely low. His vulnerability does not turn him cruel; instead, he asks whether the group truly needs to clear the scenario when Paradise offers a place where exhausted people can stop. (Chapters 156–158)
The appeal of Paradise
His question identifies the genuine temptation at the heart of Paradise. Yongpal is one of the lost people for whom security and rest matter more than progress, and his desire to remain forces the stronger party members to confront the cost of deciding for everyone. His final confirmed scenes leave him within that conflict rather than establishing a later heroic or criminal transformation. (Chapters 159–161)
Appearance and personality
Yongpal is a man in his forties with a pretty face, slender body, fine eyebrows, and soft cheeks; his appearance is feminine enough that others initially misidentify him. He is shy, stammers under pressure, and is described as fundamentally pure. (Chapter 154)
Abilities, attributes, and stories
Yongpal has no demonstrated signature combat power; his unusual record is one of survival through an accidental loophole, luck, and caution.
Accidental first-scenario survival
Yongpal survives the first scenario by accidentally killing an ant. This is not a unique ability, but it demonstrates that he noticed or stumbled into a loophole without taking a human life. The event carries no confirmed continuing combat benefit. (Chapter 154)
Scenario endurance
He reaches the Dark Castle despite very low ranking and little demonstrated combat power. His survival appears to depend on caution, luck, and stronger companions rather than a named offensive skill; powerful released Stories can incapacitate him almost immediately. (Chapters 156–159)
