Biography

Imperial Summons to the Demonic Cult

Yon Namgun serves as Southern Commander of the Imperial Guard and accompanies Prince Zhu Taikhan to summon Chun Yeowun. He doubts official Yuking's deliberately provocative delivery, but the cult's refusal to bow also challenges the palace authority Namgun is sworn to defend. The mixed mission becomes a confrontation neither he nor the prince intended. (Chapters 339–342)

Great Guardian Marakim incapacitates Namgun by sending sword qi through his thighs and taking his weapon. The defeat shows the gulf between palace elites and Yeowun's highest followers, while Yeowun's subsequent control of many weapons demonstrates power Namgun recognizes as beyond ordinary Air Sword. When Yuking collapses from poison, Namgun reasons that the cult had no need for such an indirect attack after proving it could kill the whole envoy openly. Back in the capital, Namgun escorts Zhu Taikhan but clashes with the eunuch-controlled palace apparatus, which limits where his Golden Council can go. Namgun is identified with Admiral Lim and the Supreme Commander as one of the palace's three greatest warriors. Namgun fights the East Spear group leader while trying to reach Zhu Taikhan. When the Blade God faction's attacks become open war, Namgun and the Supreme Commander lead two thousand guards and ten thousand soldiers toward Jin Castle, an unprecedented imperial mobilization against a martial faction. Appearance and personality

No stable physical description is emphasized. Namgun is proud of imperial office and rigid about ceremony, but more restrained than the provocateurs around him. His loyalty is institutional rather than personal to a palace faction: once eunuchs attack the princes and other guests, he treats them as rebels.

Palace-Level Martial Skill

Namgun is one of the Imperial Palace's three greatest warriors and is important enough that coup planners assign a specialist to keep him occupied. He uses a sword during the envoy clash and later fights with the spear-bearing Imperial Guards in the underground hall. (Chapters 342, 370–373)
