Mu Jinja

Mu Jinja is a late-stage Master and leader among the Mudan travelers whose hospitality places him close to the hidden conflict around the Godly Doctor.

Biography

Journey through Yulin

Jinja meets Yeowun's disguised party at an inn and mistakes Hu Bong for the master because Yeowun is concealing his energy. Sensing only what a late-stage Master can perceive, he privately tells Yang Danwa to use the room and winks at Hu Bong, believing he is discreetly giving a servant's master privacy. The offered room contains one bed rather than the expected two, turning a sincere act of hospitality into an awkward misunderstanding for Yeowun's companions. (Chapters 265–267)

When blade qi tears through the inn and pierces Yang's shoulder, Jinja leads the Mudan monks who investigate. He compares the travelers' blade weapons with the sword wound on the dead man and recognizes that the obvious suspects do not match the injury, though the skin mask and hidden strength still make him cautious. He later tries to stop another group from carrying its dead leader into heavy rain, but grief and pursuit matter more to them than his warning. The violence convinces Jinja that dangerous hidden forces have returned to Sword Creek. (Chapters 269–270)

Jinja later reaches the concealed mansion where Hing Wunja has protected the Godly Doctor. He proposes moving once her work is nearly complete because enemies have found the area and the trapped entrance cannot hold indefinitely. Learning that Yeowun's party contains at least two Superior Masters makes him question why Hing helped them. Even though the Demonic Cult is formally allied with Yulin, Jinja does not treat that treaty as proof of harmless intent. He accepts a plan meant to manage both the attackers outside and the unknown guests within, leaving his latest role as a cautious participant before the conspiracy is fully exposed. Appearance and personality

Jinja is a Mudan monk with the devout expressions and manners expected of an orthodox elder. He is hospitable, observant enough to compare evidence, and willing to admit uncertainty. His caution is limited by the same hierarchy he uses to read others: Yeowun's concealed power leads him to assign master and servant roles incorrectly.

Late-stage Master cultivation

Jinja is explicitly at the late stage of the Master level. He can sense Hu Bong's exposed energy and use telepathic transmission, but Yeowun's concealment prevents him from perceiving the much stronger fighter standing nearby. This gives his spiritual perception a demonstrated limitation: it reads available energy rather than bypassing deliberate suppression. (Chapter 265)

Martial observation

After the inn attack, Jinja distinguishes blade users from a sword-inflicted wound and notices that the evidence does not support the easiest accusation. He also senses the dangerous qi that cuts through the building. These conclusions come from weapon knowledge and inspection, not supernatural certainty, and the party's disguise still leaves him suspicious. (Chapters 269–270)

Leadership and security judgment

Jinja leads the traveling Mudan group, offers lodging, coordinates with Hing, and evaluates whether a trapped safehouse can survive discovery.
