Biography

An unofficial plea for aid

Juseong comes south as the uncle of Dan Baekhyun and an envoy from the North Sea Ice Palace. He delivers a long written account to Yi Mok and Yulin's leaders, then waits while they debate whether a distant crisis justifies intervention. His impatience reflects the conditions he left behind: the Ice Palace has disturbed the sealed Dragon Turtle while searching beneath the ice, the Blade God faction is manipulating the palace, and delay gives the conspirators more time to seize the spirit beast's core. When the leaders press him about the explosive used to break the ice and about information the letter omits, he hesitates but answers rather than withdrawing the request. (Chapters 403–404)

The appeal carries a political weakness that Juseong does not hide. It is not a formal request backed by the palace's main authority, and only a single representative was sent to the Demonic Cult. Juseong knows this makes military aid unlikely, yet the emergency is severe enough that he discloses the parallel request to Yulin anyway. His honesty lets the leaders assess both the danger and the uncertainty instead of assuming the North speaks with one voice. When Yulin finally agrees to help, he travels with the contingent and openly expresses gratitude, taking pride in having brought urgently needed reinforcements north. (Chapters 406, 408)

Returning to the North

Juseong's insistence on speed forces the contingent through an exhausting journey. Once the warriors near Ice Palace territory, he serves as a local guide: he identifies the Great Hung Clan by its gray-brown wolf fur, explains local travel permissions, and helps interpret the unfamiliar political landscape. His knowledge is not unlimited—he admits when he cannot fully understand a conversation—and he supports the suggestion that exhausted troops should receive a day's rest if the crisis allows it. That balance between urgency and the force's condition makes him more than a courier, even though the narrative does not place him at the center of the later fighting. (Chapters 408, 411–412)

The intelligence he delivers continues to matter after his direct role recedes. Moyong Kang later recalls Juseong's warning that the Blade God Six Martial Clan deceived the Ice Palace king in order to take the dragon spirit. Appearance and personality

The corpus does not provide a stable physical description. Juseong is anxious when the leaders delay, proud when aid is secured, and notably candid about the defects in his own mission. He does not pretend that an unofficial request binds either Yulin or the Demonic Cult. He recognizes northern groups by dress, speaks the language used around Ice Palace territory, and knows the routes and permissions needed to move through the region. These skills help a southern contingent operate in unfamiliar territory.
