Donald

Donald is a veteran five-star Altered Hunter who serves in Edvard's Ironfang operations alongside Ozacas. He combines Anti-Altered equipment with long field experience, repeatedly favoring coordination and protection when werewolf numbers and endurance make a quick victory impossible.

Biography

The failed Ironfang campaign

Donald enters the Ironfang mission as one of the Hunters' two five-star veterans, and one of the organization's longest-serving members. He proposes splitting the search teams while maintaining contact through their masks, but Edvard instead leads an unusually direct attack against a King's forces. When werewolves swarm the squad, Donald orders everyone to remain calm, stay close, and use every available item. His mace can knock attackers back but cannot finish them in one blow, leaving the Hunters unable to concentrate long enough to secure kills. The operation fails to eliminate its main targets, and Donald later presses Edvard for updates rather than accepting the defeat as settled. (Chapters 1166–1219)

As Edvard's judgment becomes more secretive, Donald notices his morning drinking and questions his talk of markings and extraordinary luck. He nevertheless remains with Edvard and Ozacas during the retreat through Lupus territory, where repeated pursuit exhausts him while the werewolves appear to grow stronger relative to the tiring Hunters. Donald agrees to help Ozacas find Blake, but the front shifts before they can complete that search.
