Bliss
Bliss is a divine being formed from fragments of an older visionary crystal and remembered as one of Bronzeland's greatest heroes. Her magic interrupts Unzoku's control, creates the reinforced space used to seal him, and later turns Jack's memories into a self-contained world through which future Alphas can learn how the conflict began.
Biography
A divine hero returns to the Alpha crisis
Bliss originates when fragments of the Divine, a crystal once worshipped for visions and truths, are combined within a single person. By Jack's era she is remembered as a hero and mage whose power lies beyond ordinary practitioners, though people close to Jack also warn that her knowledge and motives should not be accepted without care. Lenny knows where to find her after Galdark traces him, and the two arrive as Jack and Steve are close to war. Bliss supports Lenny's evidence that Unzoku has exploited rather than caused Lilly's condition and redirects both packs toward the manipulator whose lies benefit from their conflict. (Chapters 1671–1676)
Breaking control and constructing the seal
Bliss plans around Unzoku's mental influence rather than trying to overpower his body. She repels the first surge of red mist, twists the werewolf medallion's outer ring, embeds it into Steve's back, and tells him to focus on the connection shared by all werewolves. Her magic and Steve's will jam the frequency Unzoku uses to control the Alphas, allowing Jack to attack freely. Bliss then supplies Lenny with special crystals that reinforce one of her created spaces beyond its normal stability. The resulting seal isolates Unzoku from outside power but is not permanent; she openly expects him eventually to escape, and breaking her barrier concentration to save Steve leaves a moment in which Unzoku can curse both bloodlines before the seal closes. (Chapters 1683–1685)
A world designed to preserve the truth
Near the end of Jack's life, Bliss understands the request he intends to make and says a space can preserve his experience if Lenny helps. She creates a self-contained world with its own rules, while Lenny populates it from Jack's life and memories at the cost of Jack's death. The world is reactive rather than a passive recording: entrants' choices change local events, even as quests and the world's internal pressure guide them toward historical memories. Injury and death inside remain real to the entrants. Bliss's latest direct fate is not shown, but her explanations and medallion technique remain operational centuries later when Kai uses the artifact to suppress Unzoku's control. (Chapters 1711–1713 and 1827–1831)
Appearance and personality
Bliss appears as a woman in her thirties with striking blue hair, Roland-style mage robes, and a staff used as a magical conduit. Her apparent age does not establish her true chronology. She is calm, informed, and willing to act decisively, yet discloses important limits: her unreinforced space cannot hold Unzoku, the reinforced prison will eventually fail, and the medallion requires Steve's active resistance. She tends to guide people toward necessary choices rather than explain every part of her own nature. (Chapters 1671–1685)
Powers and abilities
Divine nature and magical perception
Bliss carries combined fragments of the Divine and is described as more powerful than any ordinary mage. The original Divine crystal revealed visions and truths, and Bliss knows what Jack intends to ask before he speaks, but the corpus does not define the range or reliability of her foresight. Her detailed understanding of Unzoku comes from extensive observation and investigation as well as supernatural perception, so it should not be treated as proof of unrestricted omniscience. (Chapters 1671–1676 and 1712)
Staff magic and control interference
Striking her staff against the ground releases a wave that temporarily repels Unzoku's red energy. Bliss can sustain a light barrier against the mist and coordinate magic through the medallion so that Steve's connection to other werewolves becomes a counter-frequency. The technique requires the medallion to be twisted and pressed into its user, the user's focused will, and Bliss's continuing concentration. Removing the artifact restores Steve's free movement but ends that protection; physical attacks can also force Bliss to abandon the barrier even when it holds against mental influence. (Chapters 1683–1685)
Space creation and reinforcement
Bliss can create isolated spaces with their own rules. Against Unzoku, her normal space is too weak, so she borrows special crystals and has Lenny arrange and power them into a reinforced perimeter. The completed seal blocks access to the outside world and exerts a black-hole-like pull within its indiscriminate boundary. It remains temporary, requires setup and an operator, and does not prevent Unzoku from attacking or cursing others while only partly drawn inside. (Chapters 1684–1685)
Her later medallion world is far more elaborate: a self-contained, responsive environment built from Jack's memories and life energy. Lenny is required to populate it, Jack must willingly become its fatal anchor, and people entering can die in reality if killed within the space. The corpus does not show Bliss creating living memory inhabitants without those collaborators or costs. (Chapters 1712–1713)
Relationships
- Lenny: Bliss and Lenny operate as complementary specialists. She creates spaces and blocks Unzoku's influence; he supplies activation, perimeter work, energy, and memory population that her largest constructions require. (Chapters 1671–1685 and 1711–1713)
- Jack: Bliss helps stop Jack from killing his brother, participates in sealing the manipulator behind their conflict, and later converts Jack's willing sacrifice into a warning that cannot be reduced to an unreliable oral history. (Chapters 1671–1685 and 1711–1713)
- Unzoku: Bliss understands the source and limits of Unzoku's influence well enough to jam it and cut him off from outside energy. His physical power exceeds her direct defense, and her reinforced prison delays rather than permanently defeats him. (Chapters 1674–1685)
Items
Bliss has no finalized configured inventory item. She carries a magical staff and operates the werewolf medallion, but neither is assigned to her in the finalized inventory manifest.
