Longblade
Molitar Longblade is a former Head General reduced to colonel after the Earthborn military's reorganisation. He commands the crystal-producing base on Mudding, where his strict leadership, sword training, and enthusiasm for mechs support the war effort. Though initially distrustful of the Cursed faction, their rescue of his operation leads him to cooperate with them and later command an Earthborn force in the Dalki war. (Chapters 1144, 1158, 1168–1182, and 1494–1554)
Biography
Commanding the Mudding crystal base
Longblade takes charge of the visitors as soon as they reach Mudding and insists that even faction leaders obey his base rules. He understands that the dangerous mining world supplies crystals needed by the wider Earthborn force, and builds disciplined units whose soldiers know that their logistical output sustains the war. His private willingness to tolerate violence against Cursed members if it leaves him plausible deniability shows that this order is mixed with faction prejudice rather than impartial honour. (Chapters 1144, 1149, and 1158)
Longblade's pride is concentrated in swords and mechs. He teaches every soldier swordsmanship, watches mech competitions, and challenges Quinn—then disguised as Bucky—to a virtual blade match. Quinn's speed defeats every future Longblade initially sees, but Longblade's phantom blade strike lands a simulated lethal blow before an urgent beast report interrupts the contest. Recognising Quinn's genuine skill after the match makes Longblade more respectful without erasing his boastful temperament. (Chapters 1144, 1149, and 1153–1155)
The beast hunt and Pure attack
Longblade organises the underground hunt for the humanoid demi-god-tier beast and keeps his troops coordinated in terrain where the creature has an advantage. When Pure's Agent Two attacks, he tells Layla to support him while he holds the frontline. The agent wounds him severely, but Longblade survives and throws his black sword to Quinn, allowing a stronger fighter to continue the contest. After his recovery, he acknowledges that the Cursed faction saved the base and follows Sach's evacuation order without obstructing the transition of command. (Chapters 1158–1162 and 1168–1182)
Earthborn leadership in the Dalki war
Longblade supplies useful mechs to the Cursed faction through Avion and celebrates when Quinn later uses his sword against a Dalki. Promoted after the war begins, he leads one of the Earthborn groups reclaiming human planets and advances with vampire leaders into the Dalki system. Chapter 1554 shows his force successfully reclaiming a planet; the corpus does not establish his life after that campaign. (Chapters 1195, 1240, 1494, and 1530–1554)
Appearance and personality
Longblade wears a black army uniform with a gold badge and carries a long, katana-like black sword. The corpus foregrounds his rank and equipment rather than giving stable details of his face, build, or age. He is commanding, proud, competitive, and fond of public recognition. He can be prejudiced and self-serving, but he also inspires disciplined loyalty, takes the frontline against a superior enemy, accepts legitimate orders, and revises his view of the Cursed faction after they save his personnel. (Chapters 1144, 1149, 1153–1158, 1168, and 1176–1182)
Powers and abilities
Five-second future sight
Longblade's ability shows him the outcome of the next five seconds based on movements he might make. In the virtual duel, it lets him test possible attacks and avoid a quick-draw strike after seeing the injury it would cause. It does not guarantee victory or display an unlimited future: against Quinn's greater speed, nearly every projected action ends with Longblade being countered, leaving only one workable attack. The power depends on seeing an opponent and functions in the virtual environment because that visual confrontation remains present. (Chapter 1154)
Swordsmanship and phantom blade strike
Longblade is an experienced swordsman who teaches his base and can contest Quinn when both are restricted to comparable blades. His phantom blade strike makes his weapon appear to pass through the defender's blade, then reappear with increased speed; in simulation it bypasses Quinn's full-speed block and scores a lethal strike. The text presents it as a special sword technique alongside his future sight, but does not establish whether it is a soul weapon or a separate ability. His skill still cannot overcome Agent Two's superior combat power in a real battle. (Chapters 1144, 1153–1155, and 1168–1174)
Military and mech command
Longblade's practical strength includes organising crystal production, training sword units, planning underground expeditions, and deploying mechs. The order shown at Mudding is attributed to his leadership, while the later reclamation campaign demonstrates that the military continues to trust him after his promotion. These are command competencies, not supernatural powers. (Chapters 1144, 1158–1162, 1182, 1195, and 1494–1554)
Relationships
- Quinn: Longblade first knows Quinn as Bucky and treats him as a rival swordsman. Quinn's skill and rescue of Mudding earn his respect, and Longblade entrusts him with the sword during the Pure attack. (Chapters 1153–1155 and 1174–1179)
- Layla: Longblade assigns Layla the support role against Agent Two and fights in front of her. Their combined effort cannot defeat the agent, but it delays him until stronger help arrives. (Chapters 1168–1174)
- Nathan: Nathan explains Longblade's former Head General rank and mediates between his military authority and the visiting Cursed group. (Chapters 1144 and 1179)
