Kronker

Kronker is one of the five demon kings in Immortui's realm and the ruler produced from the Durum demons. Confident that thousands of years without defeat prove his supremacy, he accepts a forced confrontation with Quinn, transforms when his crystal armour is threatened, and dies after Quinn's own demon form overwhelms his final attack. (Chapters 2380–2392)

Biography

Accepting the summoned challenge

Kronker is angered at being summoned into battle without being asked, but his identity is built around accepting challenges and proving that he was raised to defeat gods. He approaches Quinn with the confidence of a demon king who has not been bested for thousands of years, dismisses an apparent first-hit victory as too easy, and presses the attack even after recognising that Quinn's internal energy can rival a demon king's. When reflected crystal attacks and repeated close-range blows fail to penetrate his armour, that confidence initially appears justified. (Chapters 2380–2387)

Quinn's escalating force compels Kronker to release his demon form, an event rare enough to alert the other demon kings across the world. Kronker continues fighting after losing both arms and tries to replenish himself from the surrounding energy, because he believes a demon king can fight indefinitely. Once defeat becomes unavoidable, he concentrates everything remaining into a final blast intended to take Quinn with him. Quinn forces that energy back through Kronker's head and kills him. The speed of the loss alarms Immortui, while nearby survivors see a supposedly unassailable ruler fall. (Chapters 2388–2392)

Appearance and personality

Kronker's ordinary body is a massive Durum form covered in hard red crystals, with crystal hands shaped into blades. In demon form the shell bursts away and reveals a roughly ten-metre muscular body with dark-red flesh, glowing energy, small red eyes, white teeth, curved horns, facial spikes, and tentacle-like structures extending from his back. He is boastful, combative, and certain of his durability, but perceptive enough to recognise dangerous energy and adapt once brute-force attacks fail. His refusal to surrender turns into a suicidal last attack when survival is no longer possible. (Chapters 2380–2389)

Powers and abilities

Durum crystal body and growth

Kronker's red crystal body functions as armour and bladed weaponry. It withstands barrages of physical strikes, redirects or nullifies much of their electrifying force, and can absorb surrounding energy before firing crystal shards. As a Durum demon, he permanently grows stronger after battles, especially those that push him near his limit; Immortui had once been his last major opponent, meaning the version Quinn kills is stronger than the one Immortui defeated. The crystals are durable rather than absolute: sufficiently strong attacks crack, redirect, or bypass them. (Chapters 2384–2387 and 2392)

Demon form and energy control

Kronker releases internal power to break out of the crystal shell and enter a larger demon form. The evolved skin beneath is described as about ten times harder while remaining flexible, and he can attract the realm's ambient energy into himself, fire concentrated red blasts from his mouth and horns, and use his back tentacles as limbs for movement and attacks. Transformation radiates power across the world and automatically calls nearby demons when his life is threatened. Even this state cannot regenerate severed arms during the fight, and Quinn's demon form cuts its skin and survives its energy output. (Chapters 2388–2390 and 2418–2419)

Final energy attack

With his limbs gone and energy nearly exhausted, Kronker gathers his aura and remaining power between the spikes on his head for a final discharge. The technique commits everything he has left and would leave him unable to continue if it failed. Quinn catches the blast before it fully develops, compresses it, and drives it back into Kronker's skull, demonstrating both the attack's desperation and its vulnerability to an opponent with greater control and strength. (Chapter 2390)

Relationships

  • Quinn: Kronker accepts Quinn as an unwanted challenger and initially treats him as an easy victory. Forcing both combatants into demon forms reverses that judgment, and Quinn kills him with his own final energy. (Chapters 2380–2390)
  • Immortui: Kronker once fought Immortui, admitted defeat, and entered his service. Immortui expects him to delay Quinn rather than win and becomes more cautious when Kronker dies far faster than predicted. (Chapters 2390–2392)
  • Calva: Calva witnesses the battle and protects local survivors from its shockwaves. Kronker's defeat breaks the apparent permanence of demon-king rule but leaves Calva afraid of Quinn's uncontrolled form. (Chapters 2388–2390)
