Galen Talen

Galen Talen is the son of Quinn and Layla, born while Quinn is a celestial and consequently classified by Mundus as an Incomplete Celestial. He grows from an unusually capable vampire infant into a shadow user able to protect his family during the final conflicts. Unlike the vampires and subclasses altered by Immortui, Galen retains his powers after Immortui's defeat; the epilogue identifies him as a Celestial and shows him using a shadow portal fifteen years later. Biography

Born into the Talen family

Galen is born in the vampire settlement to Quinn and Layla. Minny proposes his name for its association with calm, peace, and healing, and Quinn accepts it as a hope that his son will inherit a less violent life. The settlement registers the family's cover surname as Balen, but his parents explicitly name him Galen Talen. (Chapter 2069)

His infancy instead coincides with renewed danger. Quinn and Layla evacuate with him when the settlement becomes hostile, while Minny treats him as a younger sibling and playmate. Galen initially appears to be an unusually fast-developing vampire child, and his parents keep him close rather than understanding the celestial energy hidden within him. Revealed as an Incomplete Celestial

On the Mermerial world, Galen touches an exhausted Wince and leaves her warm and able to move again, then remains in her protection while the adults confront Yongbu and Mundus. Mundus senses energy more pure than a dedicated follower's and deliberately permits Galen to move during Time Freeze as a test. Galen immediately opens a shadow portal, disappears, and returns only after Quinn arrives, revealing both instinctive caution and control his father had not recognised. (Chapters 2137, 2143, and 2158)

Mundus explains that Galen is an Incomplete Celestial: a rare child born from a celestial, possessing celestial energy and rapid growth but no celestial condition of his own. That lack of a condition makes him vulnerable because another celestial could transfer its unwanted role to him. Quinn therefore bargains for Mundus's protection and agrees that Galen's nature should remain hidden while the child learns to defend himself. (Chapters 2158–2159)

A child inside the alliance war

Galen remains with his family during the war because Layla judges proximity safer than separation. He hides in Minny's shadow when ordered, but he also fights beside her strongly enough for the siblings to defeat a five-spike Dalki. Afterward they prioritise protecting their injured mother rather than seeking another opponent, showing that Galen's power is already battlefield-relevant but still governed by family direction. (Chapters 2197–2205 and 2245)

Later threats increasingly target the Talen children. Galen stops a disguised intruder and stores him in shadow for Layla to question, then uses shadow defence during the Divine Brigade's attack so Layla can concentrate on killing the attackers. Retaining his powers into the epilogue

When Immortui dies, vampires and subclasses become human and lose the abilities tied to their changed MC cells. Galen reunites safely with Layla during that transition, but unlike Minny he does not permanently lose his powers. Fifteen years later, he is a black-haired university-age young man who opens a shadow portal when they are late and has been privately told by Quinn to conceal why he is different. Galen travels with Minny and their ageing mother to Quinn's final farewell before eternal slumber. Quinn asks Minny to look after him and jokes that Galen should eventually continue the Talen bloodline. Appearance and personality

As a small child, Galen has a full head of black curly hair and develops far faster than an ordinary human infant. Fifteen years after the final battle he remains black-haired and curly-haired, attends university, and dresses casually with headphones. He is playful and competitive: he chases Minny, persists for hours when she demonstrates something he cannot do, and is more inclined to listen to her than to Layla at times. His competitiveness coexists with caution and protectiveness. Galen hides from Mundus instead of attacking blindly, obeys orders to remain in Minny's shadow, guards Layla after battle, and later volunteers to defend civilians while she fights. In the epilogue he is independent enough to use a portal despite Minny's annoyance, yet subdued by the family's approaching farewell to Quinn. (Chapters 2158, 2205, 2245, 2453, and 2545)

Incomplete Celestial nature

Galen is born from Quinn while Quinn is a celestial. He has pure celestial energy, grows quickly in strength, and lacks the condition that ordinary celestials must fulfil. Mundus can identify this nature only after approaching and testing him, suggesting that Galen can remain undetected at ordinary distances. The absence of a condition grants freedom but permits another celestial to pass its condition to him, making secrecy a practical defence rather than merely a family preference. (Chapters 2158–2159)

His touch warms and restores enough energy for an exhausted Wince to stand again, but the corpus does not name this as a healing skill or establish what injuries it can repair.
