Clicker
Clicker is a central member of the Chained whose finger-click teleportation controls arrivals, security, and combat at Jessica's wedding. He protects his faction by constantly repositioning allies, but Peter kills him after learning that the ability depends on knowing a target's name. (Chapters 1661–1684 and 1690–1692)
Biography
Organising the Chained wedding
Jessica refers to the official by the functional name Clicker as he uses his ability to bring her fiancé and move reporters, cameras, and guests around the venue. He assigns lodging and serves among the Chained's central representatives, making teleportation part of both ceremony and security. When Vicky and Jake do not move at his click, he encounters an early sign that the event contains opponents his normal control cannot simply resolve. (Chapters 1661–1662)
Clicker also summons the Chained's selected fighters into the public demonstration. That display advertises his long-range logistical value while exposing how much the faction relies on him to assemble people quickly. (Chapters 1663 and 1667)
Coordinating the battlefield
When the wedding turns into a multi-sided battle, Clicker recalls injured guards, evacuates allies, and places fighters in advantageous positions. He repeatedly pulls Jessica out of danger and can move someone out of Quinn's Shadow Lock, while other combatants correctly identify his teleportation as the reason Chained members vanish or appear behind them. (Chapters 1672–1681)
The fighting forces him to remain near Fizzl's support area so he can use his power freely, and Peter's growing speed steadily narrows his margin. Clicker nevertheless refuses to abandon the faction or Jessica, choosing continued battlefield control even as exhaustion and pressure make escape safer for him personally. (Chapters 1677–1683)
Final deception and death
Unable to keep Peter away, Clicker offers to reveal Jessica's location if Peter states his name. The request is a trap: knowing the exact name lets Clicker teleport a person or object, explaining why some unknown intruders previously resisted him. Vorden warns Peter before he completes the answer. (Chapter 1683)
Enraged, Peter releases a ranged tail attack faster than Clicker can avoid or answer with another click. It cuts Clicker's body into two pieces and kills him. His death leaves the Chained without an easy means to retrieve Jessica, though earlier teleports continue to determine where separated participants emerge. (Chapters 1683–1684 and 1690–1692)
Appearance and personality
The corpus supplies no reliable description of Clicker's face, height, hair, clothing, or age. His defining physical action is snapping or clicking his fingers, often with one hand aimed toward the intended target. (Chapters 1661–1663 and 1683)
He is dutiful, alert, and willing to deceive an enemy for his faction. Clicker manages guests calmly before the attack, then remains close enough to protect allies despite Peter's pressure. His final request for Peter's name combines resignation with one last attempt to fulfil that duty. (Chapters 1661–1683)
Powers and abilities
Name-dependent teleportation
Clicker teleports people, objects, cameras, and groups across great distances by clicking his fingers. He can recall previously dispersed guards, place several fighters around himself, move allies into attack positions, and extract Jessica from Shadow Lock. The transfer is effectively immediate from observers' perspective. (Chapters 1661–1678 and 1681)
The decisive targeting rule is knowledge of the target's name. Clicker cannot reliably move unknown arrivals, but once he knows a name he can teleport that person without prior touch; his attempt to make Peter identify himself exposes the mechanism. Earlier characters speculate about a physical mark, but the later explanation supports names rather than confirming that guess. (Chapters 1662–1667, 1673, and 1683)
Clicker also appears to need support or proximity to use the ability continuously during the battle, since he worries that leaving Fizzl's area will prevent free use. Exhaustion, reaction time, and the need to complete a click are practical counters: Peter's final ranged strike bisects him before he acts. The corpus does not establish a maximum distance, passenger limit, energy reserve, or whether unwilling targets can resist through raw power. (Chapters 1681–1683)
Coordination
Clicker uses teleportation with strong battlefield awareness, extracting endangered allies and arranging surprise attacks rather than moving targets randomly. This tactical judgment makes him a force multiplier but also a priority target whose death disrupts the Chained's whole formation. (Chapters 1672–1684)

- Fizzl: Fizzl's area supports Clicker's free use of teleportation during the fight, limiting how far he is willing to retreat.
