Aden

Aden is an Earthborn sergeant and beast-weapons teacher assigned to replace the disguised Quinn. His rigid matching of abilities to weapons and impatience with weaker students contrast with Quinn's teaching, while his desire to defeat “Hardy” shapes the inter-house competition. (Chapters 974–997)

Biography

Replacing Hardy

Aden takes over Quinn's beast class and immediately criticises Hardy's practice of letting students experiment. He asks each pupil's ability and prescribes what he considers an appropriate weapon, which helps indecisive students but alienates those who want a choice. He largely ignores ability-less Shiro and attributes the class's slow progress to poor prior teaching rather than its concentration of low-level pupils. (Chapters 974–975)

The extra workload and students' difficulty activating weapons make Aden increasingly angry. He knocks a weapon from one pupil's hand, dismisses the class's prospects, and announces the competition as a warning that they will be outmatched. Although the narration says he continues teaching the required material, his frustration and low expectations undermine the class. (Chapter 975)

Escalating the class rivalry

Aden brings five students from his main Earthborn class to demonstrate the supposed gap and leaves Zhen in charge while he rushes to meet Hardy. That absence allows Zhen to beat Shiro without supervision. When Quinn returns and rapidly helps a student activate a weapon, the class's opinion shifts against Aden, deepening the contrast between the two instructors. (Chapters 989–991)

Aden complains that Quinn's outside tutors make the competition unfair, but cannot arrange equivalent help. He assures his own students that they will win, suspects Erlen of being bribed when he forfeits, and tolerates Zhen continuing a match after the boy is effectively beaten. These choices make protecting his team's result more important than evaluating what the students have learned. (Chapters 992 and 995–996)

Losing his chance to face Hardy

Aden enters the event expecting the teachers' match to let him display his own skills against Hardy. Sach replaces him on the grounds that a sergeant should not face a head general, leaving Aden annoyed but obliged to comply with his superior. He is alive at this last appearance, and the corpus does not show his later teaching, military service, or reaction to Sach's defeat. (Chapter 997)

Appearance and personality

The corpus supplies no reliable description of Aden's hair, eyes, height, age, uniform, or beast gear. He is an adult Earthborn sergeant who teaches at the military academy, but no other visual detail is established. (Chapters 974 and 997)

Aden is conventional, impatient, proud, and competitive. He has enough technical knowledge to recommend weapons, yet assumes weak performance reflects laziness or bad instruction and becomes preoccupied with proving Hardy inferior. Aden understands how ability types interact with weapon styles, including recommending ranged or tethered weapons for telekinesis users and teaching students to activate beast gear for stat increases. His own class can stage coordinated weapon-and-ability demonstrations, and pupils describe him as repeatedly showing off skills during lessons. (Chapters 974–975 and 993–997)

• Zhen: Aden trusts Zhen to lead his students and supports him during the competition, while remaining unaware of the unsupervised beating that began the rivalry with Shiro. (Chapters 989–996)
• Sach: Sach is Aden's superior. He hears Aden's complaints and ultimately takes Aden's place in the teachers' match. (Chapters 992 and 997)
• Shiro: Aden neglects Shiro because he has no ability and later allows Zhen's losing match to continue, reinforcing Shiro's marginalisation. (Chapters 974–975 and 996)
