Black Bird Feather

The Black Bird Feather is Xiao Hei's pitch-black remnant, carrying a blurred memory, stored Heavenly Fortune, and partial access to the Heavenly Fate Black Bird's innate authority. (Chapters 657, 668–674)

History

The name first appears when Han Yi uses a feather prepared for Foundation Establishment to gather dispersed fortune in the beast small world. Separately, after clearing Xiao Hei's Fallen Immortal Realm obsession, Li Fan receives a black feather explicitly called the Remnant of the Black Bird, along with a memory of Xiao Hei's exile and Xu Ke's essence blood. Li Fan incorporates that relic, uses it to gather fortune and investigate the Beast Realm, then loads it with the fate of a small world. The source does not explicitly state that Han Yi's earlier dantian feather and the manifested remnant are one uninterrupted object. (Chapters 554, 657, 668)

Li Fan hands the charged relic to Xu Bai, whose Xu Ke-derived bloodline resonates with it during rapid Foundation Establishment and later fortune use. Xu Bai still displays it during Empire negotiations, but this temporary operational custody does not make him Xu Ke. In Chapter 1091 Li Fan presents the last feather left by Xiao Hei to Xu Ke, who asks to keep it and solemnly places it inside his robes. (Chapters 674, 690–692, 771, 1091)

Description and function

The relic is a single pitch-black feather associated with the Heavenly Fate Black Bird Xiao Hei. It can reside within a cultivator's body, absorb free-flowing Heavenly Fortune, store it, and release it to reinforce the user's fortune. Its attached historical memory also lets Li Fan identify Xiao Hei's exile and bond with Xu Ke. (Chapters 657, 668, 674)

Abilities and limitations

Mandate of Heaven is Mine

With the feather, Li Fan can partially manifest Xiao Hei's innate divine ability, observe his own destiny, gather drifting fortune, replenish lost luck, and shield himself from fortune loss. Xu Bai draws on the stored reserve during Heavenly Fortune cultivation and after spending luck to influence favorable developments. Blood inherited from Xu Ke appears to improve resonance, though the exact division between bloodline, feather, and Mr. Bai-related effects remains unresolved in the text. (Chapters 657, 668, 674, 690–692)

Finite reserve and superior authorities

The feather stores rather than creates unlimited fortune. Its reserve can be drained by dangerous effects and must be replenished from a world or other source. It is also powerless to seize fortune from the actual Black Bird authority at the three-legged tower; the complete world-linked bird overwhelms a mere feather and can even pull previously absorbed fortune back out. (Chapters 668, 674, 690)

Custody and users

Li Fan receives and develops the Xiao Hei remnant, then entrusts it to clone Xu Bai for cultivation and Federation work. Xu Bai's possession is distinct from the original Xu Ke's identity and claim. Li Fan later retrieves or otherwise presents the relic and explicitly returns it to Xu Ke as Xiao Hei's last feather, making Xu Ke the last confirmed custodian. (Chapters 657, 674, 771, 1091)
