Zhang Qianmo

Biography

Purple Heaven Sect enforcer at Ningyuan

Before the Immortal-Mortal Miasma, Zhang Qianmo and junior brother Li Chen descend to Ningyuan City to collect Longevity Fruits. Zhang leaves routine work to his junior while planning to visit Chixia, then charges into an ambush after her apparent death. His body is destroyed protecting sect interests, but a hidden purple core reconstructs him. He kills the Golden Core Song Hesong and other attackers despite formally being late Foundation Establishment, revealing both complete ancient inheritance and fierce sect loyalty. (Chapters 176–180)

A peak Foundation Establishment combat standard

Li Fan recreates Zhang Qianmo through Discussing Dao While Seated to learn how the purple-core mechanism can be beaten. Same-realm opponents repeatedly fail until Zhong Shentong restrains rather than kills him, sustaining Seven-Colored Divine Light for more than twenty days. The strategy drains Zhang’s finite reserves without triggering resurrection, after which disintegration becomes final in the simulation. His apparent invincibility is therefore a powerful non-formal state with a precise resource limit, not hidden permanent Golden Core cultivation. (Chapters 266–268)

Rewritten Ningyuan outcome

In a later return to the Fallen Immortal scenario, Li Fan warns Zhang about the ambush. Zhang helps capture and soul-search Song Hesong, impersonates him to lure the emergent Alliance, and participates in drawing a large enemy force into a Purple Heaven Sect counterattack away from the mortal city. He repeatedly favors immediate execution, but follows Li Fan’s evidence-based caution. The changed outcome preserves his pride while showing that convincing intelligence can turn an impulsive enforcer into a tactical collaborator. (Chapters 1076–1077)

Grand Aspiration reincarnation

Later eras contain Wuchi’er, a childlike battle seeker whom Li Fan identifies as Zhang Qianmo’s Grand Vow Dharma Body rather than a casual alias. The Grand Aspiration Ascension Method lodges Slaughter, Martial, and Civil vows in Xuanhuang’s laws. Wuchi’er learns moves used against him, escapes confinement, and reappears after Dao Integration cultivators destroy his body. The manifestation can contest high realms without holding a stated conventional level, while the severed Immortal Dao prevents the three world-benefiting vows from completing their original True Immortal route. (Chapter 1173; Chapter 1289)

Appearance and personality

Zhang Qianmo bears a purple lightning sigil between his eyebrows and fights surrounded by purple thunder. Wuchi’er has a strikingly similar face but the bearing of a stubborn child, marking him as a later reincarnation body rather than the ancient disciple unchanged. Zhang is proud, impulsive, combat-confident, protective of Li Chen, and contemptuous of mortals or cultivators outside orthodox inheritance. He can nevertheless revise a plan when shown compelling evidence; Wuchi’er narrows that drive into relentless sparring and frighteningly rapid learning. (Chapters 176–180; Chapters 1076–1077; Chapter 1173)

Abilities and cultivation

Purple Heaven Royal Thunder inheritance

As Ling Yunzi’s true inheritor, Zhang can call purple heavenly thunder, surround himself with lightning, perform extreme burst movement, search souls, and wield halberd techniques strong enough to kill ordinary Golden Core enemies despite his late Foundation realm. The inheritance demonstrates ancient cultivation quality rather than an unrecorded formal promotion. Its spiritual energy remains finite: continuous same-realm pressure can drain his ordinary state, and later Grand Aspiration manifestations operate through a different law-linked mechanism rather than simply adding more thunder cultivation. (Chapters 176–180; Chapters 266–268; Chapters 1076–1077)

Purple Core resurrection state

A secret Purple Heaven method seals a Golden Core-like reserve inside Zhang’s Foundation Establishment body. Total bodily destruction exposes the indestructible core, reconstructs his body, restores wounds, and releases enough stored power to overwhelm Golden Core attackers. This is a resurrection state, not a normal Golden Core breakthrough. It appears to require death or total destruction as a trigger; Zhong Shentong’s counter instead exhausts Zhang for twenty days, preventing activation until the reserve is empty and later disintegration can no longer be reversed. (Chapters 179–180; Chapters 266–268)

Grand Aspiration Ascension Method

Zhang’s later supreme method rests on three vows: eradicate demons, replace the Ten Great Immortal Sects, and make cultivation methods available to all. It creates Grand Vow Dharma or reincarnation bodies fused with Xuanhuang’s laws. Wuchi’er can learn an attack after experiencing it, escape confinement, and reappear after bodily destruction. Progress depends on benefiting and elevating the world, while the dying star sea and severed Immortal Dao block the intended True Immortal completion. The Martial incarnation remains renewable, but lacks ordinary human memory and is not proof that Zhang attained immortality. (Chapter 1173; Chapter 1289)

Relationships

  • Li Chen is Zhang Qianmo’s junior brother and an object of genuine protection beneath Zhang’s casual senior-brother demeanor.
  • Chixia is his sweetheart; her apparent death draws him directly into the Ningyuan ambush.
  • Song Hesong is the new-law opponent Zhang kills after purple-core reconstruction and later impersonates in the rewritten scenario.
  • Li Fan first challenges Zhang through an exposed consciousness incarnation, later simulates counters to him, and finally secures his cooperation through foreknowledge.
  • Zhong Shentong discovers the reliable counter to purple-core resurrection by exhausting rather than killing Zhang.

Items

  • A dragon-like long halberd is Zhang Qianmo’s principal combat spiritual weapon in the Ningyuan scenario.
  • A purple defensive mirror reflects same-realm attacks and is distinct from the hidden purple core.
  • The hidden purple core is an internal cultivation mechanism inseparable from Zhang, not transferable loot or an ordinary held item.
