Lin Ling

Lin Ling is the newly transformed incarnation of Spiritwood Realm's Heavenly Dao. Li Fan names her and binds her to his organization, but she retains curiosity, preferences, and direct communication with other ancient trees. (Chapters 825–826)

Biography

Chapter 825

After receiving her name, Lin Ling joyfully demonstrates authority over Spiritwood Realm and follows Li Fan into Xuanhuang. She discovers that she can move through earth veins, speaks naturally with the ancient Earth Vein Tree, and becomes the first known younger tree spirit to take human form and walk the world. Li Fan uses her for transport, tracking, concealment, and field support alongside Tianyang, but withdraws her when she senses Ruomu. By Chapter 868 she also collects objects from the Stone Tablet Fisherman's pond on Li Fan's behalf. (Chapters 825–833, 841, 868)

Appearance and personality

Lin Ling has a flawless young woman's face and the supernatural beauty associated with a Heavenly Dao incarnation. She is playful, innocent, obedient, and eager to help, treating enormous acts of local creation as enjoyable tasks. Her fear of Ruomu and guilt when tracking fails show emotional vulnerability rather than impersonal world consciousness. (Chapters 825–826, 833, 841, 868)

Abilities and cultivation

Spiritwood authority and earth-vein travel

Within Spiritwood Realm, Lin Ling can wield the local Heavenly Dao's power. In Xuanhuang she moves through earth veins like water, communicates with ancient trees, borrows their network for transport and sensing, and tracks fugitives through terrain and vegetation. Her reach is not unlimited: targets can escape beyond her sensing distance, hostile regions discomfort her, and Ruomu poses a threat she cannot safely confront. (Chapters 825–833, 841)

Relationships

Li Fan names, controls, and deploys Lin Ling as “Master,” while Tianyang becomes a companion she readily transports and protects. The Earth Vein Ancient Tree treats her as a young relative; Ruomu is the dangerous Mother Tree whose attention she fears. (Chapters 825–829, 841)

Items

• Earth Vein Tree branch: The ancient tree gives Lin Ling this branch, which she fuses into her chest to accelerate growth and travel through the earth-vein network. It is her entrusted tool rather than Li Fan's portable possession. (Chapter 827)
• Fishing Pond catches: Lin Ling temporarily collects whatever is pulled out, but does so as Li Fan's custodian and does not own the recovered objects. (Chapter 868)
