Catalyzing the Spirit Pearl

Dongfang Yao requests and distributes Spirit Pearls so workers can function inside Hualing Gorge, then helps oversee the Tianxuan Spirit-Locking Formation under Lu Xichan. Later Li Fan finds him repeatedly entering a world-rift vortex to temper his exceptionally durable body and comprehend an offensive Rift Dao. Dongfang openly explains his beast ancestry, introduces Li Fan to Huangfu Song, and joins their White Mist expedition. His trust and courage help the group, though his limited formation knowledge leaves him dependent on the others' analysis inside the maze. (Chapters 377–380, 688–703)

Appearance and personality

Dongfang Yao has a heavily muscled, unusually resilient body that glows faintly gold under strain. He is loud, friendly, proud, generous in declaring new acquaintances “brothers,” and candid about his limitations. His courage sometimes becomes recklessness, but he can recognize danger and shows real concern when Huangfu Song is affected. (Chapters 688–698)

Awakened beast bloodline

A rare treasure awakens Dongfang Yao's diluted ancient beast ancestry, granting immense durability, rapid recovery, and the ability to communicate with beasts. Relationships

Huangfu Song is Dongfang Yao's long-standing friend and project partner.
