Yin Xiaoxiao

Yin Xiaoxiao is the youngest spirit in the murdered family tied to Ping An Apartments. Attached to a handmade rag doll, she grows from a cautious scenario presence into one of Chen Ge's most trusted companions and a rare Specter whose defining gift is comfort rather than violence. Biography

The smallest doll of Ping An Apartments

Xiaoxiao first moves among the Murder by Midnight props, frightening visitors but also helping her family resist the mirror monster. Chen Ge recognizes four dolls as the murdered family from Ping An Apartments and uses Wang Qi's Missing Person Notice to settle their unfinished business. The smallest doll remains curious and mischievous, and by Chapter 44 the black phone identifies her as Qin Xiaoxiao, a Baleful Specter. (Chapters 33–44)

Becoming part of Chen Ge's family

Rather than commanding Xiaoxiao, Chen builds trust by bringing her to visit her surviving grandfather and treating the doll as family. Her affection rises as she accompanies him, interacts unexpectedly with haunted-house visitors, and quietly softens other residents, including the white cat. By the time her grandfather's health declines, she remains beside him in the hospital while Chen supports them both. (Chapters 67–70, 390–393)

A gentle power revealed

During the hospital visit, Xiaoxiao's presence calms her dying grandfather and her bond with Chen reaches its highest recorded level. The black phone then reveals Soul Comfort, an ability that soothes Specters and cleanses their souls. The power exhausts her, but it clarifies the quiet role she has already played among the House's spirits; later, she sits peacefully with the Pen Spirit and Yan Danian as part of Chen's extended household. Appearance and personality

Xiaoxiao inhabits a small, worn, handmade girl doll. She is curious enough to trail visitors and mischievous enough to participate in scares, yet she hides or plays dead when discovered and trembles in large crowds. Her kindness is more fundamental than her timidity: she comforts vulnerable souls, bonds with animals, and responds warmly when Chen helps her family. (Chapters 33–44, 67–70, 390–393)

Skills and supernatural abilities

Xiaoxiao can move her rag-doll vessel, follow visitors, and act against hostile spirits despite being physically fragile. Her named ability, Soul Comfort, can soothe other Specters and cleanse their souls. Using it appears tiring, and the story establishes it as a support gift rather than an offensive combat technique. Chen Ge treats Xiaoxiao as family, carries her safely, reunites her with her grandfather, and becomes her trusted lifelong partner. Wang Qi murdered the family associated with the four dolls, making his notice central to resolving their grievance.
