Wang Dan is a forensic student whose repeated visits make him one of the House of Horrors' most stubborn regular challengers. He is outspoken and easily frightened, but each defeat leaves him more observant rather than permanently discouraged.

Biography

From brash student to experienced challenger

Wang Dan first enters the Mu Yang High School scenario with Yang Chen and Lee Xue, dismissing suspicious strangers and relying on forensic knowledge to distinguish props from bodies. When real spirits attack, he forces a path through a moving mannequin before fear finally leaves him unable to stand. He nevertheless returns for the underground morgue and later brings his girlfriend into the Li Wan City scenario, partly to prove himself against her boastful friend. Repeated scares have taught him to read footprints, distrust phones, and preserve the group, yet his attempt to follow the final clue ends with all ten visitors unconscious. On waking, he protects his dignity, shares what he learned, and promises Chen Ge that he will try again. (Chapters 259–267, 465–481, 684–705)

Appearance and personality

Wang Dan is a young man of ordinary build and appearance. He is rash, proud, blunt, and prone to complaining, but experience gradually smooths his temper and sharpens his judgment. His courage is comic rather than effortless: he acts while visibly terrified, bites his tongue to stay conscious, and values the few minutes in which he manages to feel heroic. Skills and supernatural abilities

Wang Dan has no supernatural power. His forensic studies help him recognize decay, formalin, wounds, real blood, and realistic morgue equipment. Repeated visits also give him practical knowledge of Chen Ge's scenario design, although he often overestimates how reliably ordinary attraction logic applies to genuine ghosts.
