Fan Dade

Fan Dade is Fan Chong's elder brother, a working chef whose ordinary care anchors the younger man's increasingly supernatural investigation.

Biography

Protecting his younger brother

Fan Dade shares a cramped home with Fan Chong and supports him through steady work as a hotel chef. He accompanies his brother to the House of Horrors, watches Chen Ge test the strange game, and remains more concerned with Fan Chong's safety than with solving its mysteries. Although initially wary of Chen Ge, he accepts help when the game and the shadow begin threatening their household. (Chapters 467–484, 501, 515–526)

When he tries to return to his endangered brother, Fan Dade is injured in a vehicle incident connected to the shadow's attack. He survives and receives treatment, but the separation and uncertainty push Fan Chong to remain with Chen Ge after escaping Li Wan City. Fan Dade's contribution is therefore practical rather than supernatural: he gives Fan Chong the stable family bond the shadow attempts to disrupt. (Chapters 678–680)

Appearance and personality

Fan Dade is a large adult man. He is blunt, practical, and protective, with much less fascination for the horror game than his brother. His caution toward Chen Ge gives way to reliance when Fan Chong is placed in genuine danger. (Chapters 467, 516, 678–680)

Fan Dade works professionally as a chef and manages the brothers' household. No supernatural ability is established. (Chapters 467, 516, 680)
