Doctor Fang

Doctor Fang, whose full name is Fang Zhiming, is a respected Xin Hai ear, nose, and throat specialist and former student of Doctor Wei. He is targeted by the Cursed Hospital because of his medical ability, not because he belongs to its escapee network.

Biography

Selection and disappearance

Chen Ge contacts Doctor Fang on Doctor Wei's recommendation while seeking help for Jiang Ming's cochlear operation. Fang is already being followed by a non-smiler and has received a threatening invitation connected to an abandoned hospital. Although Chi Ren leaves a warning in the renovated storeroom, Fang misses it, becomes mentally distressed, makes uncharacteristic mistakes at work, and eventually disappears from Xin Hai Second Hospital. Chen's attempt to trace him reveals that the Cursed Hospital selects skilled doctors for service and retaliates when they resist. (Chapters 1008–1009, 1141–1152)

Inside the hospital's manufactured Xin Hai, Fang appears as Patient Number 1 rather than as a free doctor. He believes something is lodged in his throat, where Chen briefly sees a hidden human face, and is forced through the hospital's night treatment. Even while frightened and confused, his professional instincts survive: when Zhang Jingjiu arrives gravely wounded, Fang demands that the psychological treatment stop, assesses infection and curse-like black threads, and remains behind to provide the best available care. His condition after the group separates is not shown. (Chapters 1164, 1171–1176)

Appearance and personality

Doctor Fang is a middle-aged man with a quiet voice and the polished manner of an experienced specialist. Abduction leaves him anxious, sleep-deprived, and prone to biting his fingers, but not indifferent to another patient's suffering. Colleagues describe him as humble and exceptionally kind despite his professional reputation. (Chapters 1008, 1142–1146, 1171–1176)

Skills and supernatural abilities

Doctor Fang is an accomplished ENT specialist with surgical training. He can assess wounds, infection risks, sterile-environment needs, and the limits of inadequate equipment. He has no confirmed supernatural power or Specter rank; the face seen inside his throat and the black threads surrounding hospital injuries are afflictions of the Cursed Hospital rather than abilities he controls.
