Chen Xiang is the savage, negative consciousness separated from Chen Xiao by the Cursed Hospital director. He shares Chen Xiao's history but remains an autonomous being; he is not the same present identity as Chen Ge's human father.

Biography

The consciousness left in the Red City

The hospital director splits Chen Xiao's consciousness during an experiment: the part retaining ordinary humanity returns to reality as Chen Xiao, while the hatred-filled Chen Xiang is abandoned in the Red City. Instead of becoming the obedient monster the director expects, Chen Xiang spends years pursuing him and later joins Chen Ge, Doctor Gao, Zhang Ya, and the Painter in destroying the hospital's altar. He commands the Demon Gods to contain the curses, recognizes that Xu Yin's protective heart can oppose the director's chaos, and softens toward Chen Ge after seeing what his son has built from the kindness supposedly taken from him. (Chapters 1204–1205)

After the battle, Chen Xiang explains the family history attached to the Black Phone and directs Chen Ge toward the deepest part of the Red City, where Kindness is waiting. He does not merge back into Chen Xiao or replace him; his body fades after the conversation, and Chen Ge later reunites with his human parents separately. Chen Xiao and Xu Meng's account confirms that they had cooperated with Chen Xiang inside the Red City during their counterattack against the hospital. (Chapters 1206–1210)

Appearance and personality

Chen Xiang wears red and radiates the oppressive presence of a Demon God. His gaze is initially cold and emotionless, and black patterns form arms across his body when he acts against the altar. Brutality and hatred define his origin, but patience, pride, and restrained affection emerge in his conversation with Chen Ge, showing that being created from “extreme evil” does not make him loyal to the hospital that tortured the family. (Chapters 1204–1206)

Skills and supernatural abilities

As a Demon God tied to the Red City, Chen Xiang can confront the hospital director, command other Demon Gods in battle, manipulate the countless arms formed from tortured souls, and interact directly with the cursed altar. He also possesses decades of knowledge about the Red City and the director's methods. His own heart cannot neutralize the altar because he is an evil spirit, which is why Xu Yin's protective heart is required. (Chapters 1204–1206)
