Thunder Blade
Description
Thunder Blade is a blue-covered skill book for Thieves, Warriors, and Knights. Consuming it teaches a six-second moving whirlwind attack that repeatedly deals the user's melee attack to every target in melee range while granting immunity to status restrictions. It is a skill-teaching item, not the weapon implied by its name. (Chapter 515)
History and custody
Winged Monkey King drop
The book drops with the Winged Monkey King's equipment. Zhang Yang identifies it as an enhanced form of Wei Yan Er's Tornado Cleave and assigns it to her without a roll against another demonstrated claimant. Wei takes the physical book and immediately consumes it, ending the item's separate custody. (Chapter 515)
After the golden learning effect, Thunder Blade exists as Wei's permanent skill rather than an inventory object. She tests it eagerly and later combines it with Tornado Cleave to inflict more than 60,000 damage in four seconds. Later command lists show the learned ability still available, but they do not indicate that another book or physical Thunder Blade item remains. (Chapters 515, 555, and 696)
Abilities and mechanics
Thunder Blade repeatedly deals 100% melee-attack physical damage to all targets within the user's melee range for six seconds. The user may move during the effect and is immune to status restrictions, allowing the attack to continue through control that would normally interrupt a melee channel. (Chapter 515)
The skill requires any melee weapon, consumes 100 Rage, and has a three-minute cooldown. During its six-second duration, the user cannot perform other actions, so movement is the only allowed adjustment; the high Rage cost and long cooldown keep it from being a routine attack. The book itself is single-use and disappears when learned. (Chapter 515)
Its damage scales with Wei's melee attack and can generate very high aggro. Used immediately after Tornado Cleave, it produces damage quickly enough to exceed the Thunderhawk's aggro generation, so party tanks or mounted aggro systems must account for the burst. (Chapter 555)
Relationships
- Wei Yan Er: The recipient who consumes the only demonstrated book and retains Thunder Blade as a learned Berserker skill. (Chapters 515, 555, and 696)
- Zhang Yang: The party leader who evaluates the book, compares it with Tornado Cleave, and directs it to Wei. (Chapter 515)
