Description

The Guewitt's Shield is a plain, dark-green Mythical shield once carried by the Guewitt family and later taken by the pirate Blackbeard Ditch. Its exceptional defensive statistics are paired with a Block interaction that produces a free Shield Bash outside the global cooldown. (Chapters 565 and 575)

History and custody

Blackbeard Ditch's loot

The shield appears among the loot recovered after the party's battle with Blackbeard Ditch. Its item note says a Guewitt descendant was robbed and killed, leaving the family shield in Ditch's possession for decades. Zhang Yang picks it up and identifies it, but its effective Level 110 requirement prevents him from equipping it immediately. (Chapters 565 and 567)

Three in-game days of combat and battle rewards raise Zhang from Level 108 to Level 111, after which he equips the identified shield. It replaces Titan Wall and raises his displayed HP to 186,760, Defense to 5,240, and damage absorption to 3,882 in the complete build. The corpus shows Zhang, not Endless Starlight, taking and using the shield; Endless sits out the immediate Queen of Blades party rather than receiving it. (Chapter 575)

Abilities and mechanics

After identification, the shield provides 4,680 Defense, 4,564 Vitality, 9,360 maximum HP, and 1,644 damage absorption. Its nominal requirement is Level 130, reduced by twenty levels. These statistics let Zhang reduce an example 10,000 physical hit to zero after Defense, passive mitigation, and absorption are applied together. (Chapter 575)

Every successful Block automatically triggers Shield Bash against the target. The triggered bash costs no Rage and does not use the global shared cooldown, allowing Zhang to insert additional damage without displacing another active skill. The shield does not remove Shield Bash's need for a successful Block and offers no stated benefit when Block cannot function against an encounter. (Chapters 565 and 575)

Compared with Titan Wall, Guewitt's Shield sacrifices the older shield's five-second Shield Wall extension but supplies a much larger health and defensive base. Zhang's test finds that the two choices can produce a similar absolute Shield Wall heal under his then-weakened Titan Chest Plate; he chooses Guewitt's for its broader mitigation and free-bash value.
