Cloak of the Dark Wings

Description

The Cloak of the Dark Wings is a Level 90 Violet-Platinum cape that grants ten minutes of flight at 300% movement speed. Activating it manifests thought-controlled gray-silver wings spanning roughly three meters, while the cape's ordinary equipment bonuses support both healers and damage dealers. (Chapters 434–435)

History and custody

Han Ying Xue's reward

The cloak drops from a final boss and is rolled among the eligible party. Han Ying Xue wins ownership. Because she has not yet reached Level 90, Zhang takes temporary custody to pay for identification and use it until she meets the requirement; his possession is explicitly a loan rather than an award. (Chapter 434)

After identification, Zhang tests the flight and later returns the cloak to Han, who has it by Chapter 442. She subsequently lends it back for encounter logistics: Zhang borrows it to lure monsters from an upper floor and to fly directly to a third-floor staging point before using a Party Summon Order. The repeated handoffs preserve Han's ownership while allowing the party's tank and puller to use its mobility. (Chapters 435, 442, 448, and 451)

Abilities and mechanics

Before identification, the cape shows 159 Vitality, 3% increased healing or damage, a Level 90 requirement, and an active flight effect lasting ten minutes with a one-hour cooldown. Its 300% movement speed provides early aerial access before ordinary flying mounts become available in the Chaos Realm. (Chapter 434)

Activation produces gray-silver wings controlled by thought. The wings can pass visually through walls, furniture, players, and buildings, but the wearer still uses flight movement rather than becoming intangible. The effect cannot be dismissed early in Zhang's first test and remains visible until its duration ends, making it conspicuous despite its escape value. (Chapter 435)

The one-hour cooldown prevents continuous flight, and the ten-minute duration requires planning. Equipment custody is another limit: Zhang can use it only while Han lends it to him, and she cannot equip it before Level 90. It provides mobility rather than immunity, so enemy attacks and encounter mechanics remain relevant while airborne. (Chapters 434, 442, 448, and 451)

Relationships

  • Han Ying Xue: The roll winner and owner. She receives the cloak after reaching the requirement and later lends it to Zhang for targeted raid movement. (Chapters 434, 442, 448, and 451)
  • Zhang Yang: Its temporary custodian, identifier, first demonstrated user, and later borrower. He does not win or permanently own the item. (Chapters 434–435 and 448–451)
