Madros
Madros is the Vampire King who abducts Sherryl in an attempt to acquire her inherited ability to walk in sunlight and lead his clan openly under the sun. (Chapters 396–403)
Biography
Thunderstorm Castle and the Chaos Realm
Madros rules through his vampire brides and minions until he learns that the former king, Drauders Martin, left a human-born daughter with the power to walk in daylight. He orders Sherryl captured, plans to make her his third bride, and intends to take that power through the wedding ceremony so that he and the vampires he creates can abandon the night. Zhang Yang and Han Ying Xue interrupt the rite and force him into battle. Madros tries to keep Sherryl alive while attacking Zhang Yang, but her refusal strengthens his rage and eventually makes him choose victory over preserving her. He wounds her, then attempts to flee when reduced to critical HP, only to be killed and burned to ash. Sherryl uses one of his surviving bones to purge her vampire blood, turning the remains of his plan into a Vampire Inheritance Fragment for Zhang Yang. (Chapters 396–403)
Appearance and personality
Madros is a male vampire with fangs, wings, a saber, and a deep voice; the corpus does not supply a fuller fixed description. He is theatrical, proud of his immortality and title, and treats humans as food. His desire to advance the vampire clan is inseparable from coercion and possession: he calls Sherryl his bride while dismissing her refusal, then abandons restraint when losing. (Chapters 399–403)
Abilities and gameplay
Madros is a Platinum-Gold Spectre boss. His saber attacks have a chance—observed at roughly one trigger in ten—to cause a much larger burst and can proc in consecutive strikes. A finger snap launches nearly invisible compressed air at high speed, but the attack requires a fixed separation from its target. He can fly, immobilize Sherryl with Bind for thirty seconds, and gains Lost Love when she refuses him: his attack rises by 10 percent immediately and another 10 percent for every minute she remains away. That scaling pressures the party to finish quickly, while his need to preserve Sherryl initially gives her openings to shield Zhang Yang. (Chapters 401–403)
Relationships
- Sherryl: Madros's captive and intended third bride. He values her sunlight immunity rather than her consent, and she ultimately helps defeat him and uses his bone to remove her vampire heritage. (Chapters 396–403)
- Zhang Yang: The adventurer who disrupts the ceremony and tanks Madros's escalating attacks until the Vampire King is killed. (Chapters 400–403)
- Han Ying Xue: Zhang Yang's healer in the rescue battle; Sherryl's interventions buy her crucial time to complete heals under Madros's pressure. (Chapters 401–403)
Items
- Saber: Madros's melee weapon, capable of triggering unusually heavy damage. It has no formal name or independent statistics in the supplied corpus. (Chapters 401–403)
- Vampire King's Bone Shard: A piece left after his body burns to ash. Sherryl uses it to purify herself, after which it becomes a B-class Vampire Inheritance Fragment. (Chapter 403)
