Black Dragon Anubask

Black Dragon Anubask is an ancient Ethereal Dragon targeted during Zhang Yang's God of War inheritance quest. Its enormous health pool makes it effectively unreachable at the party's normal strength, until Felice's unexplained recognition and rage drive her to destroy it. (Chapters 498–500)

Biography

Inheritances and Territorial War

Ares sends Zhang Yang to Crimson Flames Peak for Anubask's blood, warning that even thousands of players may be needed. The sleeping dragon is said to have served Hell's Lord Chigallor, received evil power and an immortal lifespan, and remained wounded since the ancient war. When Felice sees it, she experiences immediate hatred without recovering the relevant memory and attacks. Her exceptional defensive state reduces Anubask's otherwise devastating blows to hundreds of damage, allowing her to kill a boss whose 450 million HP would have made Zhang Yang's ordinary challenge impractical. Later narration speculates that Anubask may have taken part in the Goddess of War's death, but it does not confirm that inference. (Chapters 498–502, 518–519)

Appearance and personality

Anubask is a massive black dragon whose curled sleeping body includes a tail about one hundred meters long. Its nostrils are wider than sewers and release enough heat to redden and crack surrounding rock. The corpus gives it no dialogue or developed personality; its ancient allegiance and Felice's hatred establish hostility, but its personal motives remain unknown. (Chapter 499)

Abilities and gameplay

Anubask's visible profile lists Level 150, 450,000,000 HP, and 9,950 Defense, while its attack and skill names remain hidden because of the level gap. Its ordinary strikes are later estimated at 60,000–70,000 damage. The health pool is ten times that of an ordinary comparable Ethereal boss, and level suppression makes a normal early assault unrealistic; even Zhang Yang's later God of War Transformation would face a two-hour damage race before expiring and leaving him vulnerable to an instant defeat. (Chapters 499–500 and 518–519)

Felice's Absolute Defense is the decisive counter rather than an Anubask weakness: it reduces its strikes to roughly 600–700 damage against her. No named breath, flight, or other dragon skill is explicitly displayed for Anubask, so such abilities should not be inferred from species alone. (Chapter 500)

Relationships

  • Felice: She recognizes Anubask only emotionally, responding with intense hatred and an overwhelming attack. The text proposes a link to the Goddess of War's death but leaves the dragon's exact part unresolved. (Chapters 499–502)
  • Zhang Yang: He is assigned to obtain the dragon's blood and initially judges the encounter beyond his level. Felice's intervention completes the otherwise prohibitive objective. (Chapters 498–500)
  • Ares: Ares identifies Anubask as the required target and needs its blood to sustain his soul. His prior knowledge reflects the dragon's connection to the opposing Hell's Lord. (Chapters 498–499)

Items

  • Black Dragon's Blood: Ares requires Anubask's blood as the objective of the inheritance quest. Zhang Yang searches the enormous corpse after Felice kills it and recovers the quest materials associated with the victory. (Chapters 498–500)
