Lark

Lark is a young Blue Wolf Tribe pureblood whose strength matures around his determination to protect the family he found after his village's destruction.

Biography

Henituse estate and new alliances

Lark is a thirteen-year-old pureblood of the Blue Wolf Tribe and a descendant of the Wolf King. After his village is destroyed, he reaches Henituse territory with ten younger wolf children while suffering the fever that precedes his first berserk transformation. Choi Han and Rosalyn stay beside him, protecting him without hurting him, and become the family he feared he had lost (Chapters 7–9).

Cale Henituse arranges a home for Lark and the children in Harris Village. The decision gives the survivors both safety and a place connected to the relatives they lost.

Plaza terror and the southern expedition

Lark travels with the group and begins adapting to life beyond his tribe. Though shy and uncertain, he participates in preparations and learns to trust Cale's household. He later travels with Hilsmann and the wolf children to Mount Yelia, where their mission also gives them practical experience away from Harris Village (Chapters 10, 14–17).

Hais Islands and the Magic Tower

Lark trains with Choi Han and continues growing into his responsibilities as the oldest of the surviving wolves. When poisoned animals suffer from dead mana, his anger and compassion drive him to help end their pain rather than turn away from it (Chapters 20–21, 24–26).

Ancient powers and imperial schemes

As Cale's network expands, Lark remains both a young warrior and a guardian to his ten younger siblings. His Wolf Tribe heritage makes him physically powerful, but his place in the group is grounded as much in family as in combat (Chapters 27–28, 30).

Northern war and Death Canyon

Cale entrusts Lark with a diary written in the Wolf King's blood and leaves him to help guard Death Canyon. By age fifteen, however, Lark has grown afraid of battle and can no longer enter berserk mode. He calls himself weak and cowardly, but Cale refuses to make trust conditional on strength and orders him to rest and eat instead (Chapters 42, 50).

When Raon Mir is injured, Lark carries him and chooses to protect Cale, Raon, and the rest of his family despite his fear. That decision unlocks a transformed berserk state: an enormous wolf with blue-tinged silver fur and immense claws, large enough to shield the others with his own body (Chapters 51–52).

Aftermath and the Mogor crisis

After the battle, Lark joins Rosalyn and Choi Han in forcing Norland and Askosan to face the consequences of their invasion. His participation in destroying the enemy palaces marks a sharp contrast with the frightened boy at Death Canyon: he now acts from a deliberate desire to protect his family (Chapters 54–55).

Appearance and personality

In human form, Lark grows into a tall, gangly, skinny teenager and eventually becomes taller than Choi Han. He often appears awkward or shy. His first berserk form has dark-blue fur and large claws; his later transformation is much larger, with fur like blue-tinted silver at dawn (Chapters 7, 14, 50–52).

Lark is gentle, earnest, and deeply protective. The destruction of his village leaves him with grief and fear, and he judges himself harshly when those feelings interfere with combat. His courage develops not through the absence of fear but through his decision that protecting his family matters more than that fear.

Abilities and powers

Wolf Tribe physiology and training

As a pureblood descendant of the Wolf King, Lark possesses enhanced strength, speed, durability, senses, and recovery beyond an ordinary human. Choi Han's training gives those traits stance, control, and fighting judgment rather than leaving them as instinctive force. (Chapters 7–9, 20–30)

Physical inheritance does not prevent trauma from interrupting performance. By fifteen, fear blocks skills he knows he should possess, showing that bodily potential and accessible combat power are not the same thing.

Berserk transformation

Lark's first transformation arrives with fever and loss of control, requiring Rosalyn and Choi Han to protect him without injuring him. The later form is qualitatively different: choosing to protect Cale, Raon, and his siblings produces an enormous blue-silver wolf with immense claws and a body large enough to shield others. (Chapters 7–9, 50–52)

The form is not reliably available through anger on command. Fear can prevent transformation, while protective conviction unlocks it after Cale refuses to make trust conditional on strength. Its amplification is physical and defensive as well as offensive.

Protective leadership

Lark is the eldest guardian of ten younger wolves. He organizes their movement, accepts training and expedition responsibility, and places his body between danger and family. The Wolf King's diary gives inherited guidance, but leadership grows through daily care rather than bloodline alone. (Chapters 9, 16, 24–30, 42)

He remains young and harsh toward himself. Cale's unconditional trust interrupts that self-condemnation, allowing courage to mean acting while afraid. His latest battlefield strength is therefore inseparable from a leadership purpose he chooses.
