Erhaven is an ancient gold dragon who becomes Raon's teacher and lends Cale's coalition his magic, knowledge, and draconic perspective.

Biography

Hais Islands and the Magic Tower

Erhaven is an ancient gold dragon who lives in a secluded lair with the elf Pendrick. He enters Cale's affairs after recognizing the presence of the young dragon Raon Mir. Despite his sharp tongue and aloof manner, he accepts responsibility for giving Raon the draconic education the child has never received (Chapter 26).

Raon's raw power alarms him because captivity has produced talent without the knowledge dragons normally inherit. Teaching is therefore harm prevention as well as affection: theory, history, and control keep a child with immense mana from learning every limit through catastrophe.

Ancient powers and imperial schemes

Erhaven teaches Raon magic, flight, combat judgment, and the knowledge expected of a dragon. He also examines Cale Henituse, identifies the dangerous imbalance among Cale's Ancient Powers, and warns that Cale can safely maintain their combined output for only a short period. Using old records and his own knowledge, Erhaven helps locate the water power needed to rebuild Cale's bodily balance (Chapters 27–31).

The diagnosis illustrates his method. He reads how separate powers interact inside one vessel, identifies a time-limited safe output, then searches for a complementary element instead of merely telling Cale to become stronger. Knowledge turns an invisible bodily risk into an actionable acquisition plan.

Erhaven strengthens the World Tree's defenses through instructions to Raon and Rosalyn, asks the tree to give its next fruit to Raon, and helps Cale interpret the warning that traces of the young dragon's parentage remain. His knowledge gives the group a draconic perspective on evidence that human scholars could not reliably assess (Chapter 37).

Even ancient knowledge has boundaries. The warning about Raon's parentage and later dragon murders reveals a hidden history Erhaven must investigate rather than instantly recognize. His value is knowing what evidence means and where uncertainty remains.

Northern war and Death Canyon

Erhaven accompanies the group through the northern conflict and destroys a mysterious stone pillar by reducing it to dust. The action opens a route connected to the Eastern Continent and exposes the scale of the ancient violence hidden beneath the villa. He uses teleportation and defensive magic to move allies and keep younger members of the group out of immediate danger (Chapters 48–50).

The pillar shows his personal attribute rather than generic dragon strength. Solid stone becomes fine gray dust, removing the obstruction without the uncontrolled collapse a conventional explosion might cause. What lies beyond, however, still requires investigation.

Aftermath and the Mogor crisis

Erhaven identifies the captured Half-blood Dragon as an artificial chimera who consumed dragon hearts. He also guides Cale through the late green dragon Ollien's lair and diary while investigating missing monsters and the Water of Judgment. His magical restraint and draconic knowledge help the group keep its prisoner alive and interpret Arm's experiments (Chapters 52–56).

Keeping the captive alive forces anger under discipline. Erhaven recognizes murdered dragons inside the experiment, but examination and testimony can reveal Arm's network in ways immediate execution cannot.

Although his remaining lifespan is limited, Erhaven spends it teaching Raon, investigating the deaths of other dragons, and protecting the network that has formed around Cale. His conduct contradicts the idea that an old dragon must be isolated or indifferent (Chapters 54–58).

Roughly five remaining years create urgency without making him reckless. He invests finite time in a successor, records, and allies whose work can continue after his natural death.

Appearance and personality

In human form, Erhaven is exceptionally handsome, with white-gold hair that reflects his nature as a gold dragon. His calm appearance contrasts with a sarcastic, impatient manner; he frequently calls Cale an unlucky punk and reacts to the group's chaos with exasperation.

Beneath that aloofness, Erhaven is conscientious and protective. He maintains connections with elves, the World Tree, and younger dragons, and he treats teaching Raon as a genuine obligation. His anger over murdered dragons and exploited lives reveals a strong moral boundary.

Abilities and powers

Ancient dragon magic

Erhaven's immense mana supports long-distance group teleportation, flight, barriers, concealment, transformation, and analysis of complex magic. He can move several allies while protecting identities or erect defenses that most human mages could not match. (Chapters 27–31, 37, 48–52)

Age and rank do not mean limitless action. Large magic still requires judgment, he cannot restore his natural lifespan by output, and hidden ancient systems can present unknowns. He often uses precision and delegation because preserving younger allies matters more than displaying maximum power.

Dust attribute

Erhaven can reduce solid matter to fine dust or powder. At the villa he disintegrates the chained stone pillar, opening a sealed route without leaving a standing obstruction. The effect is distinct from fire or impact: the material's structure ceases to hold together. (Chapter 49)

The scoped evidence does not establish universal erasure of every living being, spell, or artifact. Its confirmed use is extraordinarily effective material disintegration under Erhaven's control.

Draconic scholarship and teaching

Erhaven understands dragon development, mana, Ancient Powers, magic circles, records, and continental geography. He diagnoses interactions rather than listing isolated facts, as when he connects Cale's imbalance to a needed water power or Raon's talent to missing education. (Chapters 27–31, 37)

Teaching converts that accumulated knowledge into capacity that survives him. Raon learns principles and limits, while Cale's group gains a reader for dragon hearts, artificial chimeras, lairs, and diaries. The remaining gaps around Arm's experiments require investigation, demonstrating scholarship rather than omniscience. (Chapters 52–58)

Relationships

• Raon Mir: Erhaven becomes Raon's teacher and senior draconic guardian, supplying the education the young dragon was denied.
• Cale Henituse: He diagnoses Cale's powers, supports his plans, and repeatedly protects him while complaining about his recklessness.
• Pendrick: The elf lives in Erhaven's lair and serves as a trusted companion and healer.
• Half-blood Dragon: Erhaven identifies the prisoner's artificial nature and takes part in restraining and examining him.

Erhaven otherwise relies on innate dragon magic, his dust attribute, extensive knowledge, and the resources of his lair rather than a personal weapon or artifact.
