Si Chen

Si Chen is a favored young mage of the Si Clan whose status, expertise, and resources drew Kong You Yue away from Snowrock Castle. He survived the battle near Black-Wind Cliff, then helped her enter an imperial refiner workshop before both were expelled. (Chapters 50–73, 87, and 97)

Biography

Snowrock Castle and the imperial workshop

Si Chen arrived at Snowrock Castle as a celebrated young mage from the dominant Si Clan. Kong You Yue cultivated his affection because marriage into that clan promised security and advancement, and during the crisis caused by Xiang Pang Yun she urged him to escape aboard the Black-Moon Centipede. Si Chen initially lacked the experience to judge the battle's scale, but accepted the evidence that Xue Ying had reached the Realm of Myriad Existences and helped establish what had occurred. After Xue Ying's apparent fall, he took You Yue to Azure River County and used his clan position to bring her into the imperial refiner workshop. There he guided her spell-matrix studies, yet neither clan favor nor talent guaranteed permanence: the workshop eventually expelled Si Chen, You Yue, and the other Si Clan mages, leaving his subsequent career unrecorded in the supplied evidence. (Chapters 50, 55, 65–73, 87, and 97)

Appearance and personality

Si Chen is described as an elegant young mage. He was talented but comparatively inexperienced in judging high-level combat, and his workshop instruction shows a patient analytical side: he corrected You Yue's spell model by relating a matrix's precision to support from the natural world. (Chapters 54, 65, and 97)

Abilities and cultivation

Si Chen had already become a Meteor mage while still young and was regarded as a Si Clan genius. His expertise included spell matrices and experimental refinement, which he applied to instructing You Yue and obtaining work in the imperial workshop. The workshop nevertheless judged practical refining by results, experience, and patience; the corpus explicitly notes that talent alone did not make him an accomplished refiner, and his expulsion marks the latest demonstrated limit of that professional standing. (Chapters 54, 71, and 97)
