Ji Rong

Ji Rong is a mage apprentice whose romance with Dong Bo Qing Shi conceals an effort to gain access to the Dong Bo family's wealth for a Demonic God cult. Her manipulation deepens the brothers' conflict shortly before the Black-Wind Cliff disaster and ends when Qing Shi rejects her.

Biography

Courtship, manipulation, and exposure

Ji Rong meets Qing Shi as a fellow student of Bai Yuan Zhi and presses him to question why Dong Bo Xue Ying controls the family inheritance. She presents the argument as independence between brothers, but her private reaction after Xue Ying's apparent death reveals a different goal: she expects Qing Shi to inherit treasures that she can offer to her god. Her words exploit Qing Shi's insecurity and contribute to his quarrel with the brother who raised him. (Chapters 51–61 and 71)

The Black-Wind Cliff battle breaks her influence. Qing Shi sees her reactions during the crisis, remembers Xue Ying's warning, and demands the truth after returning to Snowrock Castle. Ji Rong denies the accusation, but he banishes her from the territory. She later admits to another cult follower that she had planned to remain beside Qing Shi for easier access to the treasures; by Chapter 87, an investigation has exposed her as a follower of the Demonic God cult. Appearance and personality

Ji Rong is a petite young woman described as delicate and charming. She can sound protective and practical when urging Qing Shi to secure his inheritance, yet her private thoughts are acquisitive and openly pleased by Xue Ying's apparent death. When confronted, she uses denial and tears before later expressing anger over losing access, showing that affection, if present at all, never overrides her cult purpose. Abilities and cultivation

Ji Rong is one of Bai Yuan Zhi's mage students and can recognize valuable magical materials, but the supplied chapters never show her casting a spell, establish her mage rank, or name a cultivation method. Her most effective demonstrated tool is social manipulation: she reframes greed and suspicion as Qing Shi's right to independence. That pressure temporarily damages the brothers' trust but fails once Qing Shi evaluates her conduct during the cliff crisis. (Chapters 51–61 and 73)
