Fan San Yuan is one of the Fan Clan's strongest Primal Chaos disciples and a candidate for its Origin Realm God Palace mission. He is presented as the balanced member of a three-person core group, in contrast with the specialized aggression of Fan Yi Qian and the sword path of Fan Mo Zhu.

Competition for the Origin Realm mission

The Fan Clan invests exceptional resources in Fan San Yuan, including a costly secret impartation, and expects him to rank among the best candidates. Confident in the clan's techniques and Cosmos God guidance, he helps arrange Fan Yi Qian's test of Xue Ying, intending the strength specialist to reveal the outsider's limits. The silent and decisive result unsettles him, and the formal selection proves similarly humbling: Fan San Yuan loses his own contest and can only entrust the remaining chance to Xue Ying. Fan San Yuan wears a dull gray robe and has a warm aura that earns respect from the clan's Primal Chaos experts.
