Chao Qing

Chao Qing is a veteran Water Daoist Faction leader who advises Dong Bo Xue Ying during his entry into the Transcendent community and later becomes a Deity during the Xia Clan's demonic crisis. His breakthrough allows him to power and steer Battleship D9, making an elder near the end of his Demigod lifespan into an active strategic asset. The corpus contains two misleading name matches: its file numbered Chapter 6 is actually a copied “Chapter 346” fragment, while Chapters 1022–1023 describe a mass-produced puppet called “Magic Servant Chao Qing,” not this character. Neither is used as biographical evidence.

Biography

Elder of the Water Daoist Faction

Chao Qing first appears as the Water Daoist Faction's vice head, ranked ninth among Demigods and already more than 2,860 years old. Nearing the ordinary Demigod lifespan limit, he invests his remaining attention in successors: he warns Xue Ying that Infernal World tempering can kill even great talents, points him toward a secret-technique shelf suited to his awakened primordial bloodline, and challenges him to exceed Chao Qing's own sixth-match result in the Transcendent Life and Death Battle. His mentorship combines ambition with concern for lives rather than records alone. He gambles on Xue Ying's performance and joins other Xia Clan seniors in later discussion, but after Cheng Ling Shu is killed by a demon he grieves that a young Transcendent died while an old man like him remained. He reprimands Xue Ying for flying openly to the scene and relaxes only after learning the younger man has Demigod-level protection. (Chapters 123, 185, 193, and 202)

Breakthrough at the end of his lifespan

Rather than die when his lifespan runs out, Chao Qing opens his inner Deity Sea and becomes a Deity. Xue Ying learns of the breakthrough while away from the Xia Clan and reacts with exceptional joy because the success preserves a senior he expected to lose. A later retrospective attributes the opportunity to cultivation in Crimson Dust Island's Cultivation Eden, but the relevant local file is malformed and does not preserve Chao Qing's own breakthrough scene or the exact process. The advancement changes his institutional position as well as his lifespan. Xia Clan custom places Deities in the same generation regardless of age, and by Chapter 408 Xue Ying addresses the formerly distant vice head directly by name. The evidence does not state Chao Qing's exact Deity rank or whether he retains formal leadership of the Water Daoist Faction after this transition. (Chapters 315 and 408)

Deity-era service

During the climactic conflict, Chao Qing supplies Deity energy to Battleship D9 and steers it through space to the battlefield. He operates it better than Mountain Lord He and the other Demigods could, allowing one new Deity to handle a craft designed around divine power. His arrival supports the Xia Clan's strategic mobility and heavy weapon platform rather than centering him in a personal duel. (Chapter 365)

The same scene states a clear limitation: Chao Qing's realm comprehension is still too shallow to activate all of the ship's arrays and functions. He remains present among the senior Xia Clan observers in Chapter 392 and responds to an urgent summons in Chapter 408, his last direct scene. No later local passage identifies his death, further breakthrough, or fate after the material-world era. (Chapters 365, 392, and 408)

Appearance and personality

Chao Qing is a bald, skinny, wizened old man with a deeply wrinkled face and clouded eyes. At his introduction he fishes peacefully beside the Water Daoist Temple lake, while the vigorous aura around his aged body preserves the authority earned by his old Demigod ranking. His Chapter 408 appearance remains bald and wizened after becoming a Deity; no youthful transformation is described. (Chapters 101 and 408)

He is candid, demanding, and protective. Chao Qing sets Xue Ying a deliberately high battle target, offers useful private guidance, and refuses to waste ceremony on being accompanied. In wartime, grief sharpens his caution: he would rather have died himself than lose Cheng Ling Shu and immediately scolds Xue Ying for unnecessary exposure. His age brings familiarity with death without making him indifferent to younger lives. (Chapters 101 and 193)

Abilities and cultivation

As a Demigod, Chao Qing ranks ninth and grasps the True Meaning of Thunder God. The summary phrase “a single streak of lightning unhindered under heaven” associates the path with extreme lightning movement or attack, but the supplied chapters do not preserve a direct combat demonstration, activation sequence, range, or defense. His Transcendent Life and Death record reaches the sixth match, establishing strong early combat experience without detailing the opponents or techniques used. (Chapter 101)

Deity Sea breakthrough

Chao Qing's crucial progression is opening an inner Deity Sea shortly before his Demigod lifespan would expire. Cultivation Eden provides an environment of rare materials, abundant energy, and adjustable time flow, but the surviving copied fragment also explains that heavy acceleration distorts the laws and cannot simply force comprehension. His success therefore extends life and supplies Deity energy, while its personal mechanics and final insight remain outside the preserved source. The breakthrough does not instantly perfect his realm comprehension. He can power divine machinery and act within the Deity generation, but Battleship D9's higher arrays remain beyond his complete control. This separates energy qualification from technical mastery: Chao Qing has enough Deity power to operate the vessel alone, not enough understanding to expose its full potential. Applications and latest evidence

Chao Qing's best evidenced application is strategic piloting. He feeds Battleship D9 with Deity energy, handles its movement through spatial ripples, and brings the Xia Clan command group to the needed battlefield. The ship multiplies his usefulness but is external equipment; the corpus does not show that he can reproduce its transport, defense, or attack functions unaided. (Chapter 365)

By Chapter 408, he remains active enough to relay urgent requests involving Purple Thunder and Xue Ying. That is his latest direct personal state. The “Magic Servant Chao Qing” attacking Prince Xue Ying in Chapters 1022–1023 is explicitly described as a purchasable Primal Chaos puppet and must not be read as Chao Qing's later corruption, survival, or power progression.
