Cheng Ling Shu

Cheng Ling Shu is an open and sociable Xia Clan Transcendent mage from Tranquil Sun Province. She welcomes younger Transcendents, encourages them through the Battle of Life and Death, and later dies while protecting mortal children during the hidden demon war. (Chapters 105–142 and 192–197)

Biography

Fellowship and sacrifice

Cheng Ling Shu introduces herself informally as “Sister Ling Shu,” joins provincial gatherings, teases friends about romance, and urges Yuan Qing to use Xue Ying's nine victories as a target. During the demon war she locates Dragon Mountain personnel through World Energy and keeps rescued children calm while waiting for evacuation. A crimson-horned demon exposes her, tears through two life-saving protections, and shatters the surrounding space; Cheng Ling Shu is destroyed. Later intelligence suggests the attacker may have been Wu Lang, but the identification remains suspicion rather than direct confirmation. (Chapters 105–142 and 192–197)

Appearance and personality

She is a female Transcendent mage with ordinary features and an open personality. Her conversation is playful, curious, encouraging, and unpretentious, while her final actions show composure and concern for children under threat. (Chapters 105, 140–142, and 192)

Abilities and cultivation

Cheng Ling Shu uses World Energy to perceive approaching Dragon Mountain personnel and carries multiple life-saving spell scrolls that create rippling protective barriers. The barriers withstand initial claws but rapidly lose magic power and cannot survive a hundred-meter spatial shattering attack. The source does not name her principal mage element, personal spell system, or exact realm beyond Transcendent. (Chapters 192–193)

Her latest state is confirmed death; no advancement or posthumous ability is shown. (Chapters 194–197)

  • Yuan Qing: Younger Transcendent whom she encourages to measure himself against Xue Ying. (Chapter 141)

Items

No assigned item is established. She expends at least two unnamed life-saving scrolls during the fatal attack, and neither survives as a tracked possession. (Chapter 193)
