Bat Mountain Master

Bat Mountain Master is a peak-stage God Monarch whose influence in High Mountain City rests on personal strength and a loose organization of subordinate experts. His failed attempt to test Dong Bo Xue Ying, then known as God Monarch Flying Snow, turns a potential feud into a deliberately unequal reconciliation.

Biography

Conflict and accommodation in High Mountain City

Bat Mountain Master enters the record after three of his God Monarch subordinates die while trying to kill Xue Ying. The loss damages his standing, but he correctly judges that immediate retaliation against an unknown Ascendant could cost more lives. He instead arranges a nonlethal public spar inside the Imperial Wind Clan, where city rules protect both participants while letting him measure Xue Ying's strength. His frost techniques and Bat Dragon body fail to harm Xue Ying, while repeated counterattacks tear flesh from the transformed body; he concedes before the contest becomes more costly. (Chapters 1276–1282)

Defeat changes his policy quickly. Bat Mountain Master addresses Xue Ying as a brother, lets him decide the fate of Tie Cheng Liu—the informant whose prejudice caused the original attack—and personally executes Tie Cheng Liu when Xue Ying requests it. He then makes amends and spends subsequent years cultivating favor with the Flying Snow Residence. Xue Ying, who could later destroy him easily, treats the matter as settled because Bat Mountain Master lowered himself and stopped pursuing the conflict. (Chapters 1282–1283 and 1319)

Appearance and personality

Bat Mountain Master is an ugly, triangular-headed old man with a hoarse voice. His behavior is cold and punitive toward weak subordinates, but extremely cautious toward comparable or stronger experts. He cares about reputation, yet values survival enough to choose a protected spar, admit defeat, and flatter a former enemy rather than defend pride through a lethal escalation. (Chapters 1276–1283)

Abilities and cultivation

As a peak-stage God Monarch and one of High Mountain City's publicly recognized leading experts, Bat Mountain Master specializes in ice. With a thought he can freeze a mountain hundreds of kilometers across and shatter it; in the spar he compresses that power into a smaller ice prison and forms hundreds of inscription-covered ice shuttles. Xue Ying's void-ification defeats the prison and corrosion, so the scene demonstrates both the technique's scale and its inability to hold a body merged with the void. (Chapters 1280–1281)

His Bat Dragon transformation supplies a large, mobile body able to fight with claws and tail. It is durable enough to continue after Xue Ying's new killing technique tears away pieces of flesh, but cannot land a meaningful blow and accumulates damage every few exchanges. Bat Mountain Master ends the form and concedes; no later passage shows a stronger transformation or cultivation breakthrough. (Chapters 1281–1282 and 1319)
