Bottle of Fiction

The Bottle of Fiction is not a portable glass bottle but a Contractee ability that turns a modest enclosed location into a separate, condition-gated space. Guillaume Bénet first demonstrates it against Lumian Lee, who later contracts the Fantasy Face and makes the ability a recurring tool for traps, isolation, escape, and private conversation.

History

Guillaume Bénet's sealed battleground

Guillaume converts an abandoned mine with a secret door into a Bottle of Fiction and allows entry only to bearers of Inevitability's power. The condition isolates Lumian from Franca Roland and Jenna, while a separate trap waits at the bottle's exit. Lumian uses Distortion to open the enclosure to his allies, and Guillaume's death removes his control. After sustained fire and the loss of its creator's support, that instance cracks apart and returns the mine to ordinary space. (Chapters 1760–1765)

Lumian's contract

Wanting the same tactical flexibility, Lumian summons a spirit-world creature called the Fantasy Face and contracts Bottle of Fiction by offering a bottle of strongly spiritual Beyonder blood. The price is a trace of greed; using his own blood would have risked gradually turning him into a monster, so he instead sacrifices blood taken from Gardner Martin's corpse. This creates a continuing ability, not custody of Guillaume's destroyed enclosure. (Chapter 1933)

Traps, barriers, and privacy

Lumian uses doors, windows, and vents as symbolic openings, then specifies simple conditions such as “ordinary humans,” “female,” or “spirit-world creatures.” He seals enemies into prepared rooms, keeps bystanders out of battles, blocks reinforcement, muffles noise, and protects team conversations. He can also lift the bottle to transport everyone inside by teleportation. Opponents with sufficient force or authority can break the space, and large-area attacks remain dangerous to everyone trapped within it. Abilities and properties

• The user designates a modest space containing a symbolic entrance such as a door, window, or vent. The location becomes a separate enclosure represented as a Bottle of Fiction rather than a permanently carried object. (Chapters 1760 and 1933)
• A simple entry or exit condition can admit one category and reject another. Those who fail an entry condition are returned to their original position; admitted occupants can normally use the bottle's opening unless an additional trap or exit condition prevents it. (Chapters 1760–1761, 1985, and 2215–2217)
• Delayed explosions and other preparations can be placed at its openings, turning a selected room into a controlled ambush site. The bottle does not itself create those additional attacks. (Chapter 1955)
• It blocks ordinary movement, contains sound, and interferes with outside rescue or observation. It is not perfect concealment: high-level sight, mirror influence, or sufficiently strong authority may penetrate, inspect, petrify, or disintegrate the boundary. (Chapters 2164, 2291, 2327, and 2424–2426)
• The enclosure can be broken by violent force or powers such as authoritative Words of Order. Destroying one construction ends that instance, not Lumian's underlying contract. (Chapters 1765, 2080, and 2164)
• A Bottle of Fiction can be based on a living person, forcing an attacker to defeat that living foundation before breaking the remaining enclosure. This is a demonstrated exceptional use, not evidence that every bottle is equally resilient. (Chapter 2164)
• Lifting the manifested bottle can carry its occupants with the user during teleportation. Conversely, a wide-area attack inside a sealed bottle leaves fewer routes for evasion and may turn the space into a cage for its creator as well. (Chapters 2218 and 2327)
• Klein Moretti does not possess this contract. His Realm of Mysteries is later used as a higher-level comparison, explicitly surpassing Bottle of Fiction in concealment and spatial authority. (Chapter 2407)
