Life in Klein's Era

Ozil was an elderly former pirate who secretly owned the Amyris Leaf Bar and organized its underground Beyonder gathering. Acting for an employer linked to Tracy and Wormtongue Mithor, he offered a large reward to find Helene unharmed, turning his informants and gathering into a search network. (Chapters 562–598)

After a false Helene drew attention to Danitz and Gehrman Sparrow, Ozil helped investigate them and assembled Beyonders and gunmen against Gehrman. Klein defeated the group with Dragon's Might, Distortion, and Psychic Piercing; under interrogation Ozil confessed piracy, rape, murder, kidnapping, and the sinking of victims' families, after which Klein executed him and fed his body to Creeping Hunger. Appearance and personality

Ozil was an older man with sparse white hair and sharp, bright light-brown eyes. He maintained the bearing and contacts of a once-famous pirate, combining caution and criminal organization with brutality that his respectable bar-owner front concealed. (Chapters 562–601)

Pathways and abilities

Ozil was a Beyonder whose characteristic remained after death, but the corpus does not identify his pathway or Sequence. He recovered from Dragon's Might faster than many allies, suggesting substantial mental resilience, yet no unique personal power is directly shown before Psychic Piercing incapacitates him. (Chapters 599–601)

Relationships

Mithor was Ozil's criminal collaborator and the channel connecting him to Tracy's search for Helene. Klein, as Gehrman Sparrow, became the target of Ozil's network and then its destroyer, while the Amyris Leaf gathering supplied Ozil with informants and hired force. (Chapters 562–601)

Items

Ozil controlled the Amyris Leaf Bar and its meeting space, but no named weapon or mystical item is attributed to him. Creeping Hunger consumed him after his death and was never his possession. (Chapters 562–601)
