Biography
Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse
Li Keji is the dream-city counterpart of Frank Lee, working as a biology teacher at Star Tutoring Classes. His attempts to engineer mushrooms that taste like beef, produce milk, move through water, or otherwise solve hunger lead authorities to treat him as a dangerous mentally ill suspect. Even under arrest, he presents his work as practical idealism, insisting that his distinguishing qualities are enthusiasm and the courage to implement ideas rather than genius. (Chapters 2392, 2393)
His symbolic connection to fertility and biological transformation makes him a focus of competing outside powers. A follower of the Great Mother asks Lumian Lee to impregnate Li Keji; Lumian lies that this has already happened to delay the plan, but the dream's symbolism makes the declaration consequential. After transfers between institutions, Li Keji undergoes a grotesque pregnancy and becomes a giant mushroom creature serving the Great Mother's side in Paramita. (Chapters 2393, 2397, 2449)
Chief Yagates's order disintegrates the transformed Li Keji. He dies joyfully convinced that his experiment has succeeded and speaks of rebirth, while a final jellyfish-like therapeutic mushroom survives. The infiltrators give it to Ludwig with the intention of using it to treat and awaken An Xiaotian, allowing Li Keji's genuine wish to heal hunger and illness to outlast the corrupted form it took. Appearance and personality
Li Keji is burly and extremely hairy, with long brown hair, dense facial hair, and deep-brown eyes. He first wears a white shirt and olive overalls and later hospital clothing. His softer facial features contrast with his imposing build. He is exuberant, sincere, fearless about experimentation, and almost entirely lacking in caution; that innocent conviction makes him sympathetic while also making his creations hazardous. Pathways and abilities
Li Keji has no established conventional pathway. His supernatural mushroom cultivation reflects his correspondence to Frank Lee and is amplified by the dream and the Great Mother's corruption. His creations display abnormal mobility, nutritional properties, biological transformation, and therapeutic potential, while his final monster form is produced by external forces rather than a clearly identified potion sequence. Relationships
Frank Lee is the real-world figure whom Li Keji mirrors. Lumian tries to delay the Great Mother's plan around him but unintentionally gives it force through his declaration. Grimm and other Great Mother followers treat Li Keji as a vessel, while Chief Yagates destroys his corrupted form.
