Ernes Boyar
Ernes Boyar is a Sanguine Viscount who supplies Emlyn White with information about an abandoned castle in Delaire Forest and later becomes the target of Emlyn's counterplot. (Chapters 969–970)
Biography
Life in Klein's Era
Ernes directed Emlyn toward the ancient castle, presenting the information as knowledge from Lord Nibbs. Suspicious of the arrangement, Emlyn commissioned bounty hunters to map Ernes's routine and combined their surveillance with higher-level Sanguine assistance. (Chapters 969–1001)
Mistral overwhelmed Ernes with darkness and bats, stripped him of useful possessions, and delivered him into Bishop Utravsky's custody. Under Utravsky and Emlyn, Ernes labored at the Harvest Church and shared Sanguine history and artifact knowledge; he later returned to Backlund Sanguine gatherings, alive but with the humiliation remembered by his peers. (Chapters 1002–1010 and 1279–1310)
Appearance and personality
Ernes has the silver-haired, scarlet-eyed appearance associated with the Sanguine and maintains the polished routines of a viscount. He is knowledgeable and self-assured enough to set a lure for Emlyn, but becomes dazed and compliant after Mistral's overwhelming ambush. (Chapters 969–1003)
Pathways and abilities
Ernes is a Viscount among the Sanguine and therefore a Beyonder of their hereditary Moon-pathway line, but the supplied corpus does not explicitly state his sequence. His personal combat abilities are not shown clearly because Mistral's higher-level attack suppresses him almost immediately. (Chapters 969 and 1002–1003)
Relationships
Emlyn White turns Ernes's apparent trap into a counter-hunt and supervises his Harvest Church work. Bishop Utravsky holds him through the church's coercive environment, while Mistral is the Sanguine powerhouse who captures him. (Chapters 969–1010)
Items
Ernes carries several unnamed valuables and mystical items before his capture, all of which are removed from him. His knowledge helps Emlyn describe their effects and drawbacks, but the passages do not establish a persistent named item uniquely belonging to Ernes. (Chapters 1002–1010)
