Yu Fei-er

Yu Fei-er is the sixth princess of Hongyuan Empire, a 5-star master teacher, and a gifted formation master. Proud, competitive, and unusually direct, she first clashes with Zhang Xuan through a series of wagers before joining an expedition connected to Grandmaster Wu Yangzi. Her irritation develops into trust and unreturned affection as Zhang Xuan repeatedly protects the expedition and shares cultivation methods with her. (Chapters 613–696, 738–862, and 920–1,202)

After becoming the disciple of 9-star master teacher Ji Ruochen, Yu Fei-er continues cultivating rather than remaining protected by royal status. She later reaches the Azure, spends years advancing to Semi-Divinity realm with Hu Yaoyao, and accepts a God-blood breakthrough to cross into the Firmament. Biography

Wagers and the Wu Yangzi expedition

Yu Fei-er meets Zhang Xuan while testing artifacts and insists on honoring a wager even when the outcome humiliates her. The encounter establishes a recurring dynamic: she challenges what she sees as his arrogance, loses to an ability she underestimated, and responds by trying to surpass him rather than defaulting on her word. As a princess and 5-star master teacher, she is unused to being dismissed, which makes Zhang Xuan's indifference especially aggravating. (Chapters 613–618)

She joins Luo Qiqi and other academy students on a confidential mission to investigate Grandmaster Wu Yangzi's disappearance. Yu Fei-er supplies defensive artifacts that help the party escape a spirit-beast horde and uses a formation plate to delay pursuit. Her formation knowledge is among the best in the group, but Zhang Xuan dismantles an ancient array with ease, forcing her to revise another confident judgment. Deeper in the ruins, Otherworldly Demon puppets trap the party; Zhang Xuan risks his soul and body to draw them away, and Yu Fei-er's fear that he has died exposes concern beneath their constant bickering. After escaping, Yu Fei-er remains alert to threats around the group, warns Zhang Xuan about a beast tamer with malicious intentions, and uses her standing to keep officials from casually exploiting two 5-star master teachers. The expedition does not remove her temper, but it changes its basis: she now argues with Zhang Xuan as a trusted companion whose safety matters, not merely an opponent in a wager. (Chapters 677–696)

Academy training and the Combat Master Hall

At Hongyuan Master Teacher Academy, Yu Fei-er cultivates both zhenqi and soul. Zhang Xuan gives her a simplified soul art drawing on demonic tunes, terpsichorean principles, and soul tempering, and she records his cultivation instruction for further practice. She advances to Chrysalis realm alongside Luo Qiqi and later tests herself by knocking out an opponent and inviting several combat masters to attack at her own suppressed realm. Yu Fei-er continues visiting Zhang Xuan for pointers and carries supplies gathered by their friends for his pill forging and smithing. She wants access to the same lessons he gives Luo Qiqi and openly complains when she thinks he has excluded her. Although she returns to the Combat Master Hall, she joins investigations in Qingyuan Empire and provides political intelligence about King Zhongqing's influence. Ji Ruochen's disciple

A veiled envoy seeks Yu Fei-er out on behalf of Ji Ruochen, a 9-star master teacher from the Pavilion headquarters. Though surprised that someone of that standing would notice a princess from a Tier-1 Empire, Yu Fei-er accepts immediately because the instruction offers a realistic way to close the widening gap between her and Zhang Xuan. The recruitment is facilitated by Luo Qiqi's connections, a favor Yu Fei-er later acknowledges openly. (Chapters 1,246 and 1,558–1,559)

When she reunites with Zhang Xuan, Yu Fei-er knows about Luo Qiqi's heartbreak and understands that her own feelings are not reciprocated. She refuses to cling to him or turn affection into a demand, greeting him with her usual firmness despite the conflict beneath it. Training under Ji Ruochen therefore becomes more than pursuit of a person: it is a path she continues even after accepting that cultivation cannot force another person's choice. From the Azure to the Firmament

Yu Fei-er eventually ascends to the Azure and spends roughly a decade at Starchaser Palace with Hu Yaoyao. Daily cultivation and sparring bring both women to Semi-Divinity realm pinnacle, but the absence of Aura of Divinity blocks Godhood and makes an attempted crossing to the Firmament fatal. Faced with the likelihood that Zhang Xuan will remain forever beyond reach, Yu Fei-er chooses to risk the crossing rather than accept a safe separation. (Chapters 2,221–2,222)

Zhang Xuan anticipates the problem and leaves each traveler a drop of his God blood through Wu Chen. Yu Fei-er uses its Aura of Divinity to become a God and enters the Firmament with Hu Yaoyao and Luo Xuanqing. All three nearly die on the Grand Spirit Mountain, confirming that the breakthrough is entry-level power rather than mastery of the higher world. They survive and seek information about Zhang Xuan, only to learn that he has already become a God Monarch. Yu Fei-er remains alive and resolves to continue cultivating until they meet again. Appearance and personality

Yu Fei-er is a striking young woman comparable in beauty to Luo Qiqi. She favors clothing that reflects her bold temperament, including a fitted crimson dress, and carries herself with the confidence expected of an imperial princess and master teacher. Her expressive eyes and quick changes from anger to worry make it difficult for her to conceal strong emotion. (Chapters 654, 676–677, 977, and 1,156)

She is obstinate, proud, and emotionally direct. These traits make her rush to conclusions and turn disagreement into competition, especially around Zhang Xuan, but they also underpin her refusal to break promises or abandon companions. Over time she becomes better at accepting outcomes she dislikes: she acknowledges Luo Qiqi's help, recognizes that affection does not create entitlement, and keeps moving forward when the gap between worlds appears impossible. Formation mastery

Yu Fei-er is already a 5-star formation master and a recognized academy genius when she investigates the Wu Yangzi ruins. She can analyze terrain, enumerate possible array structures, use formation plates to delay stronger pursuers, and explain the danger of removing flags in the wrong sequence. Defensive artifacts and formations let her party survive enemies they cannot defeat directly. (Chapters 652–659)

Her expertise is substantial but not infallible. An old formation can exhaust her before she even forces it fully into view, and Zhang Xuan's ability to identify and remove its flags far exceeds hers. Her methods depend on analysis, prepared tools, and correct structural information; she cannot simply dissolve every unknown array by force. (Chapters 652–659)

Soul, combat, and master-teacher cultivation

As a 5-star master teacher, Yu Fei-er combines broad cultivation knowledge with practical combat. Zhang Xuan's simplified soul art improves a foundation she had already begun developing, while repeated instruction raises her zhenqi cultivation to Chrysalis realm. In the Combat Master Hall, she favors direct tests, defeating Zhou Ye and challenging several opponents to suppress themselves to her realm and attack together. Her growth remains slower than Luo Qiqi's and depends on continued instruction and resources. The later bottleneck at Semi-Divinity realm is absolute without Aura of Divinity; years of diligent sparring cannot turn her into a God. Zhang Xuan's blood supplies the missing energy, but after ascending she is still among the weakest cultivators in the Firmament and narrowly survives its wilderness.
