Kiara

Kiara is a pistol-wielding Extractor who moves from Cycle to Dark Dream after a violent conflict between the companies. Her fierce loyalty to fallen coworkers initially makes her an enemy of Wyntor and Nick, but she later becomes one of Dark Dream's established workers. (Chapters 143–159 and 193)

Biography

From Cycle loyalist to Dark Dream worker

Kiara reacts to Kerry and Sarah's deaths with fear, grief, and open rage, insisting her companions were not spies and demanding revenge rather than procedural justice. She follows Cycle's leadership into the confrontation with Dark Dream, where Nick captures her and Jonathan. Faced with Cycle's collapse, danger to their families, and a far better wage, the two accept Wyntor Melfion's employment offer. Kiara then demonstrates her cutting ability, trains the new company in the Bleeding Lady's containment procedure, and takes regular work with the Lover. Her shift is practical rather than a denial of her old loyalty: survival and family responsibility redirect the same commitment toward a new employer. (Chapters 143–159, 173, and 193)

Death before the Anatomy era

Kiara grows into one of Dark Dream's stronger earners and is later associated with her own Adolescent-level work assignment. Her death occurs off page: while reviewing his employees' combat experience, Nick recalls Kiara and Jonathan as the only workers involved in the Cycle fight and states that both are already dead. The corpus gives neither the circumstances nor the exact date, so her status is clear but no particular Specter, mission, or colleague can be assigned responsibility. (Chapters 241, 303, and 341)

Appearance and personality

Kiara is a young woman commonly identified by the two pistols she carries. She is emotionally direct, quick to anger when friends are threatened or maligned, and difficult for superiors to restrain during the Cycle crisis. Once responsible for family and work, she also shows adaptability and professional competence. (Chapters 143–147 and 159–173)

Abilities and Zephyx

Kiara is a Mid Newbie when Dark Dream recruits her. Her ability, obtained from the Bleeding Lady, surrounds a weapon or body part with a cutting effect while consuming very little Zephyx. She demonstrates it by making a pistol glow red before firing a far more damaging shot. The power is efficient in combat but still depends on her weapon, aim, and Newbie-level physical limits. Relationships

• Jonathan: Kiara and the early red-haired Jonathan fight for Cycle, are captured together, and transfer to Dark Dream under the same pressure. (Chapters 143–159)
• Nick: Nick captures Kiara, then becomes her Chief Zephyx Extractor and learns the Bleeding Lady procedure from her team. (Chapters 157–159 and 173)
