Myung Jun-il

Myung Jun-il is the eldest son of Myung Yongha and Jung Hawon. A quiet, shy child, he becomes interested in Gyeoul when the Myung and Yu families meet at the Lake of Life. Their later encounters at Lair Amusement Park and Peace City develop his childhood admiration into an earnest but unsuccessful confession. (Chapters 46, 99–100, 145, 150)

Biography

Friendship and a first confession

Jun-il first meets Gyeoul while his family is picnicking at the Lake of Life. He watches her play from a distance, addresses her as his older sister, and carefully waves goodbye when the Yu family leaves. When the households meet again at Lair Amusement Park, his attention remains fixed on her; he even changes his usual ice-cream preference to strawberry after seeing her with that flavour. His father recognizes the unspoken request without forcing him to explain it, showing the supportive family environment behind Jun-il's hesitant attempts to connect. (Chapters 46, 99–100)

The shared trip to Peace City gives Jun-il more time with Gyeoul, though his shyness and her literal replies make conversation difficult. He tries to obtain one of her gummies and misunderstands her refusal, then later follows his father's advice that love depends on timing. At the final campfire, he offers her a red tulip and listens when she quietly rejects him. Jun-il hides his tears as he walks away and accepts his mother's competing lesson that love depends on destiny, ending the encounter disappointed but without lashing out at Gyeoul. Appearance and personality

Jun-il is a young boy and the older of Myung Yongha's two sons. His detailed facial features, hair, and clothing are not specified. He speaks in a calm voice for his age but becomes visibly nervous around Gyeoul, often hesitating, stammering, blushing, or relying on glances instead of direct requests. His behaviour is shy, observant, and earnest. He watches Gyeoul closely enough to adjust small preferences around her, yet his limited experience makes him misread her literal answer about sharing gummies. Powers and abilities

Jun-il demonstrates no magic, combat technique, superhuman physiology, or formal training. His membership in the renowned Myung Household does not by itself establish that he inherited its magical talent. His demonstrated capabilities remain those of a socially cautious child: he communicates calmly, notices the people around him, and listens when Gyeoul states her answer clearly. Relationships

• Gyeoul: Jun-il develops a childhood crush on Gyeoul after meeting her at the Lake of Life. He seeks her attention during later family meetings, tries to share food with her, and gives her a tulip at Peace City. Gyeoul treats him politely but does not return his romantic interest.
